My way of doing it is..

1. You have the list of ppl who r interested in this.
2. Letz list them in Alphabetical order of names.
3. One person will start a topic which he thinks is relevant ( of course from current news ) and the discussion will go on for 3 days.
4. 4th day, the next person will start a new topic.
5. There is always an option to peep into previous topics if someone has something significant to contribute.
A couple of points:
We have a section on Exam Resources on the Board Index. In depth discussion on GD topics fits better in that section I guess. But the important function that this thread might be able to play is to point out important happenings of the day and mark out things that seem important for GDs/PIs.

Then we can open a corresponding GD/PI topic in the Resouces section and discuss it. That way this thread can act as a snapshot of what's happening and anyone who's interested in a particular thing follows it up.

hey mikin,
me got a single call (iim-i) last year
that was around 51-52 marks last year(97.45%)
among all these calculations going on about the cut-offs, wat do u think--will the cutoff be lower than last years
and wat according to u will be the cut-offs
(well i think experience can be imp in this case)
well as far as this yr's cat is concerned , i stand somewhere near to 54 (ims answer key and 1/3,1/6,2/3 -ve markings
response awaited

Whoa.. .that mustve been a rude shock. I know a guy with a BLACKI who got the final call from K alone.

Any reasons ? Did you do anything that you now look back upon with regret ?

Or plain rotten bad luck ? ( yep, there's plenty of that over the place )

ATB this time

Guys, what do you think of the CSB/ GD_PI prep programs of IMS, Career Forum, Carrer Launcher, Tim etc ?/

Planning to join then ??

How are going about your prep??

Views/sugestions/ideas please ?/

Sanchayan
Sanchayan, I took both IMS and CL last year for the prep. Though I did find them useful, I didn't find anything in them that I cudn't have done on my own
Actually that's one of the points of getting together. We can drive a lot of the preparation ourselves.
Having said that, I know a friend who had trained in an institute called Insidedge or something like that started by some IIMB students. she had just one call and she converted it cuz she said she got some really solid fundaes there. I am trying to get in touch with her and get the details. Seems they aren't too well known because they don't advertize. Its only through word of mouth.

But after everything I am still focussed on what we can do ourselves.
How about getting together over the weekend to assess initial enthu at this stage. We can get to know each other and THAT will help a lot cuz we're the same people who might meet up during the actual GDs!!

Well Shramili,

I agree with you on that.
Some of my friends suggested the same thing. The IMS CSB program isnt that helpful. However, the CL PDP program is supposed to be quite decent.

Sure, lets meet up somewhere.
Suggest time/place , i will be there.

A lot of my friends are sulking ( just like I am ). With time , the momentum will build up.
This time, the field is wider. A lot more people may get calls.

You havent posted your scores. I am curious.

Sanchayan.

Shramili,

I just joined these people called insidEdge that you mentioned. You are right abt the fact that they don't advertize. I got to know of them thru a friend from IIMA. They started on the the evening of Nov 21st...4 hours after the CAT got over ;-)
The first session was basically gettin out of d CAT mode for us. I took a 25 hour program they have over 4 Sundays where u basically stay with them the whole day. They videotape u and take stress interviews and GDs and stuff. seems pretty neat right now ;-)
They gave the 8 of us a presentation a couple of week before the cat n it seemed they knew what they were talkin abt...so i thot what the heck ;-)

I'll post about how the session goes so that u have an idea of what goes on as we progress.

And I am pretty enthu about meeting up if someone can organize in Blore. How bout MG/Brigade or Forum?

Ani.
