Following are my scores ...

EU/ RC : 30.33

Re: CL Mock # 10 - 31-10-2004, 01:07 PM

So, I am the first one to post my scores ( Unless someone else posts while I am typing this )..wrote the test yesterday...was waiting for everyone else to write...

I went in with a new strategy to give extra time to VA/RC as I am not able to clear the cut off in this section, of late...

As Usual , started with DI , spent 35 minutes there , wasted lot of time thinking over problems I later didn't solved...anyways , the break up stands as 22 Attempts, 17 right, 5 Wrong, 15.33 Net

Next went to VA followed by RC...took my own time to check and double check the answers ( especially in RC ) ...Ended up spending 1 hour on this ....36 Attempts.....28 Right...8 Wrong...25.33 Net

Now, I had just 25 minutes left for Maths..So, Accuracy was the key here...No Useless Attempts.....14 Attempts....14 Right...14 Net

In Total : 72 Attempt, 59 Right, 13 wrong...54.66 Net ...Overall I am satisfied with my performance...Just worried about the extra time I am spending in VA/RC....QA might suffer if the paper is difficult...

I attempted 13 in Quant ... of which 4 turned out to be wrong.
I'll definitely touch 18-20 figure mark next time... Will work on Quant all this week

Re: CL Mock # 10 - 31-10-2004, 02:47 PM

Guys,

Couple of Qs from Mock 10..Please care to answer....

Q No. 19...It calculates the selling price of HR Coil steel for Tata steel...But he question asks for the selling price...it never says SP for TATA Steel.( I marked it as Canot be determined as we have no info about other companies )..Do we have to assume the same price across the companies....

Q No. 32 : Is it a common practice to consider Invalid votes ( Is it okay to assume that )...Don't you think that it is outside the boundary of the question...

Q No. 81..The series should be like : 1, x, xy, (x^2)y, (x^2)(y^2), .....
and hence the answer should be Option 1 ...

Will post more as and when I come across any....

Looking forward to some inputs on this....

Re: CL Mock # 10 - 31-10-2004, 02:54 PM

Hii all, this was moderate paper ………..screwed it especially va , which I feel was very easy.my score is

Section-[attempt/right/wrong]-scrore

Va-[38/27/11]-23.33
Q-[20/14/6]-12
DI-[27/18/7]-16.33

Overall-{85/60/25]-51.33 [ now i am used to it]

I think quant was very tough and there were very few sitters though there were many question of moderate difficulty level.,which can be done.

rc was very simple .

DI was as usual very innovative. And have moderate difficulty level. But here explanation of DS was absurd indeed.
eg.q32 which say that we don’t know no. of invalid vote. But then in q35 we can say that we don’t know how many min boy stopped during journey [for chai, pani or…..u can understand ] . I think this is contreversial.

And one question is definitely wrong and need correction…q58 anwser should be none of these bcoz it can also be = ..

I think cut should be
Va-25
q-10
di-16
overall-56-60

cheers

Following corrections had been made at our center..
81. 1
86. 4
95. 4
100. 2

But as usual I have doubts with few answers..
Answer for 43 should be 1.. It seems they have made some calculation mistake in the explanatory answer sheet.
Answer for 69 should be 1 as its clear that the coefficient has to be negative...
Looking for more erratas *:P

I agree for Q nos 43 and 69 ..both should be 1...but Q no. 81 should be 1 as well..I am getting the answer buddy ...

1 + x + xy + (x^2)y + (x^2)(y^2) + ....

(1+xy+(x^2)(y^2)+......) + ( x+(x^2)y+.........)

(1/(1-xy)) + (x/(1-xy))

(1+x)/(1-xy)...hence 1.

If this is wrong, please explain the correct answer
