hi everybody
nice to find doctors out here. well 2 of us are preparing out right here from this side of the country, 1 is really serious, the other guy ( me) getting serious. hi hi...
Anyway i m happy to see doctors out here ......
but many people over here still consider this as wierd. only time will prove.
Let me get into some questions

Do IIMs give any preference for people from our backgrounds, especially in the case of cut-offs in the cat???/

Have anyone of you heard about an institute called - Indian Institute of Health Management and Research (IIHRM) at Jaipur? If yes ---
is it worth taking a pg from there? or are they one among those institutes with Is and Is and nothing else.

Hi Serious doc buddy,

I do not know of any background gettng preferences as far as cutoffs are concerned. Atleast I didnt. I had a 97.7 with no calls from IIMs. Finally made it to MDI.

Keep hearing of stories of preferences, but not seen one personally so far.

About the HM Research Instt in Jaipur, I hear its good, but you are seriously narrowing down your scope. It would be easier for me to comment if I know your aspirations post MBA. You can write to me at drashima@gmail.com.

i suppose their might be a slight relaxation in terms of the quant cutoff, as long as you can meet the overall cutoffs. as ashima says...97.7 is not enough to crack into the iims. i guess a 98.5 to 99+ should be sort of reasonable for experienced doctors (this is only conjecture by the way)..

as a matter of fact, 5 (excl. Lucknow); all iims have docs right now (except K)
