Help Needed Regarding Probabaility and Permutations and Combinations

i need some informations regarding some good books to follow for probability and permutations and combinations. Please mention author name also.
If at all anyone has good documenst that contains good formulae lists for probability and permutaions and combaination stuff .please help me by posting it

if it is available in the market, try out P&C by VILENKEIN, itz real cooooool stuff man. ....
if it is not available try out TMH mathemetics...
if u have TIME material, then nothing like that..
P&c is all about practise...

Hey just adding on.... if you are not from the Maths Background or maybe out of touch, then I guess you could start out with some basic stuff from XI and XII Maths Text Books like NCERT etc.. and then go on to higher level things. TMH may be like Engg. Entrance Level, IIT-JEE et al, may be higher and so not required for CAT prep, so wouldn't recommend TMH.

as i already said"if it is available", the book is a very rare piece of work..
he explains the concept in taking real life situations.
itz a very very old book by WILEY EASTERN edition.it is only for P&C...
that book is only for those who wud like to do research in that field . yet a small part of it is very useful for CAT....
if it is not available, just go for TIME material... believe me, itz good...

mean while, i shall try to scan some concepts from that book and attach it..
i never attached any thing in this forum before, so i need help from the MODS regarding that...

I believe the Author is VILENKIN check the spellings and he is like a Probabilistic and Hazy mathematics and Lie set Expert.

Can u suggest something for verbal and RC, I am bored with this dry GRE Wordlist stuff.
Some particular book or material, or perhaps some good authors (fiction, non-fiction anything, but intellectually stimulating) to read....

as vipin said, NCERT books for class XI and XII are sufficient for concept building. and then u can practise from the IMS/TIME/etc materials.
i feel spending disproportionately large amount of time and effort after PandC may not be very wise thing to do. if one finds that after going thru class XI and XII level course material and practising the coaching materials, one is still not comfortable or proficient enuf then may be one should move on to other topics. some people (including me) just dont get a hang of the topic.
but then these are my personal views...

hey vipin,
i think reading TOI and HINDU for 4 months and collecting all the new words in them shud do. i've read the papers and collected around 600 words along with their usage. i made a separate book for that and it really helps. u can find all these words in GRE BArrons.. the reason why i recommended TOI and HINDU is that, CAT is basically an indian exam and if at all they ask any words they shud be from those used in the indian context, and the words u find in these papers r of course used in indian context.
for grammar try out raymond murphy.. it is really good.
