Hi great to have this thread running finally. Was waiting for a while for this. Now coming to the point. The pattern seems to be interesting as expected. Verbal will play a vital role. Quant seems to be simpler as pointed by many people in the thread and i also talked with my bro.

So puys just be patient. Check the answers to cool down; but as pointed Diabloro bhai just wait for 3 days and you can have a proper normalized score. So the battle has started, its just the starting.

All the best to all puys

Re: CAT 2008: Analysis, Experience, Discussions , & More - 16-11-2008, 04:02 PM

Hi guys,

my 1st post here.
I found the paper relatively easy than the last year in all aspects except DI. For me the analysis of the paper (form no. 333) goes as follows:
QA - This secton has always been one tough nut to crack for me but today I found this section pretty easy. In the 40 minutes that I spent on this section, I found the following questions easy - 6, 8, 12, 16, 17, 19, 20. I attempted a total of 12 questions here.
DI - my total attempts - 17 (although spent 50 mins here). The questions seemed to be tough for me. This section always has been one of my strengths but I think the cut offs will be low in this section.
VA - This section had 40 questions which did not seem too tough to me. My attempts - 24. The cutoffs will be quite high here.

Lets hope for the best.
cheers.

answer key is out on hitbullseye.com for all sets. its a reputed institute in chandigarh. You can vouch their key is good. For VA/RC, no institute's key except the IIM is good enough of course

Best of luck to everyone

Re: CAT 2008: Analysis, Experience, Discussions , & More - 16-11-2008, 04:06 PM

Just had a look at the CAT paper and talked to few CAT veterans. As per their analysis, QA was tougher than last year:robot:, DI of more or less same difficulty level:confused: but since more questions were calculation based cut off probably will be lower than last year. VA was shocker, easier than past two CAT's but increase in questions might cover it up. I will not like to comment much on VA part since intially VA looks easy and then institutes start giving their answer keys and a gloomy picture comes out :eyepop:. Its too early for any one to suggest the cut off's, hundred of minds, many opinions, but definately it will be higher than last year .
But i don't see much increase, last year at score of 94 i scored 97%, so 102+/-2 might fetch same percentile considering number of applicants has increased. So guys just wait for 2-3 days to get the clear picture.
