"4)The payment can be done by depositing the application fee with the necessary transaction charges in any branch of the SBI in favour of NITIE (A/C No: 30510275155). The Challan can be downloaded from the link provided in the payment page. Please fill in the Category (General/ Reserved) details prior in the personal details page to get the complete Challan for printing."

1) Can we do an online transfer of the amount to NITIE's SBI account? (I have an account with SBI hence was wondering if this is acceptable or not).
2) (In case #1 is true) Generally, we get a unique "Transaction ID" for every online transfer. Can this ID be used for the "Challan"?
Thanks in advance
Hi Abhishake,

You need to visit the nearest Core Banking enabled SBI Branch and deposit the money there only. Money transferred online will not be accepted.

Cheers,

@chopsuey and koolbuddy :-

Guys, Thanx for helping us with NITIE Doubts.

I am confused about one thing. I am in my 7th semester right now, And my Aggregate falls little short of 60.. But i am confident that in these remaining 2 semester. I can get First Class. So how do i go about applying at NITIE ?

As in, is there any condition in which if i don't get First Class in final yr, then my admission will be canceled or unfortunately i just cannot apply in the first place.

Hi Dipen,

As the advertisement clearly mentions that final year students are required to acquire the requiste criteria while passing their final year, you need to have minimum of 60% after passing the Grads....If you don't, you lose the chance. Also, it doesn't debarr you from appearing now as the final criteria is on the basis of final results...and not of now...
Go and apply soon ..

ALL THE BEST

Re: NITIE - 2009-2011 Admissions Queries - 06-10-2008, 07:59 PM

from:
NITIE website - General Instructions
"Candidates should have Bachelor's Degree with First Division in any branch of Engineering / Technology (5% concession in case of SC/ST/PD candidates)."
1. First division and not first class.. what does first division entail exactly?
ie above 75%?, above 60%, course completed within such and such duration.. what exactly?
2.
Last Date for submitting applications through the Online portal : November 12, 2008
Why 4 days before CAT despite such a late announcement? Are there chances of this date getting pushed further(ie after CAT)?
4 days before CAT!!! What does that tell you?

Hi,
This thread is for the queries and for grievances. If you really feel bad, ask the concerned authorities. Spamming is never the solution for anything.

PS:- posting irrelevant things in a thread is called spamming

Hello gravz84;

Answers to your queries:

1. AFAIK, First Division and First Class essentially means the same. Now, what this entails exactly depends on which university u belong to. If you belong to ABC university and your university gives 60% as First Class then a person with marks less than 60% from ABC university will not be entertained. If you belong to XYZ university and your university gives 75% as First division then a person with 70% from XYZ university will not be entertained.

2. I don't think one needs to take more than 2-3 days to fill up the form. The online application has opened today i.e. October 6th, and closes on November 12th. So, in effect, you have 38 days in hand to fill up the form. which I guess is long enough period.

Last year, the last date was post CAT and this had resulted in too many applications. This was reflected in the high cut-off (98.2 pc, even certain IIMs had lower cut-offs) inspite of the fact that NITIE takes only Engineers and that too only First Class. But at the same time there were not too many quality applications. Just to reduce the count and ensure that only serious candidates apply, this move has been taken this year.

NITIE has never been publicity hungry and has never tried to increase the number of application just by shifting the dates. As a member of Admission Committee, I can tell you that the last date will not be postponed by even a single day.

Cheers,

Thanks for clarifying. I asked about postponement because XIMB already postponed theirs to a later date.
So it should say on your degree certificate that you got first class from the university, is that it?
Sorry, I don't know what the degree cert is going to look like and whether they mention the class or percentage..
