the gov is trying to put forward an eyewash......since it does not have the wherewithall to do something about the primary education system in this country...the IIMs r being made scapegoats........

this report to say the least........IS RIDICULOUS......

yes the iims can reduce the fees,,, do it fro free or as soneone suggested pay the students for coming free.. but all for what... social service ???
social service to whom the people who are gonna earn a lot later????

social service to mankind or the poor indians?? by letting these very managers market their MNC or an indian company and help it make profits at the expense of those very people??
i say cut the crap and come out with the results....

Did any one read the full page Advt that Arindam Chaudhuri has given in Times of india (atleast in the Bombay edition) ? It is titled "Busting the MBA Mafia "

That dude really knows how to time it. He has really trashed the IIMs and branded them a "MBA Mafia" :-O

Dont know if you can see the text any place other than the paper.. if possible try to get ur hands on it..

This dude tells us that indian cos are in dire need of quality management. But the IIM students all go away abroad. Plus the IIMs deliberately keep the supply of MBAs very restricted. We need 50000 managers at a conservative estimate, and IIMs produce only 1500 he says. The keyword here is "quality management". And here he implicitly endorses the view that only the IIMs produce "quality" managers. What about **** ???

But then he also has the ad for **** on the same page. And the guy mentions only MNCs and "fortune 500 cos" in his placement statistics. Whither goeth his affirmed patriotism with respect to placements????

He says... [if the fees are reduced] The faculty will have to turn to engage their *less productive* teaching talent into more productive activities like consulting.

**** is really upto something....for the last one year they have been advertising practically everyday with full page ads ( lotsa bucks to spend ...give me some man!!!). but most of these ads focus on iim bashing rather than ****'s own qualities and course features. " dare to think beyong iim's ??" is their punchline.
today's article by arindam chaudhari is truly hillarious! just shows to what level this negative publicity has stooped. and u thought it was limited to consumer products like pepsi vs coke , or hll vs p & g ????????????????

Hey, I read that too. The guy then has the cheek to ask for feedback on his views! I sent him my views and gave him a piece of my mind. I really trashed his institute, **** too.

One statement of his stupid article goes like this

If the number of students are not artificially and unnecessarily limited and the supply of quality MBAs is increased in the Indian markets, the salaries of the best of the MBAs perhaps would come down to Rs. 1.8 to 2.4 lakhs per annum, at the most, which is also their true worth at best.

What can one say???

I just checked the link above & i think he is a frustated nerd who has tried every single thing under the sun to compete his pathetic **** to the level of IIMs. He definitely is a ****ed-up, brain-wrecked, maniac.

He seemed to have been somewhat mentally sound in other interviews regarding the importance of education and MBA, etc, etc on other occassions but for this me wanna show him ...sorry mods, first time i have used that ... me cudn't resist it

haan spidey.. google kiya tha.. i got the link u sent and also a link on the **** page.. a scanned image of the page on which the news report appeared in HT.

But it didnt have the entire text of the article.. so didnt watnt to post it. Especially the bits in the article where he talks about the IIM faculty being " comparable to our corrupt and illiterate politicians ....... infact they are a worse lot......milking the education.etc "

The dude says that MBA is jsut as good as a 10+ 2 level thingie.. "education has never been so basic as an MBA " ..

Now for the hypocritic part... he says that MBAs are worth only Rs 1.2 lakh pa. Now in the link on the HT site <which spidey sends > he says that he is the highest paid speaker in India :-O.....O mi gosh.. what are the pearls of wisdom that flow from his mouth ? Isnt he then guillty of packaging the same "Basic level" fundaes and peddling it to the "top executives" for the "highest " payment . <Hmm... maybe the highest paid guy charges less than 1.2 lakhs p.a. maybe ... ? >

Well just wanted to add this..

Though not related to PGP program... still IIMs give 10-12K per month to the
IIM-FPM students. So I think there certainly is some utilisation for the 100 Crore corpus they have created.

And also I agree that charity should not be the motive of these instts.

30K is meagre but still if all those sitting in the parliamentary committees etc etc think that is a valid amount... I would say "NO COMMENTS".

Just wish they do not lose focus in the teaching they do and students do no suffer due to lack of facilities...

while we are talking about **** ... allow me to add some more on the "hallowed institute".

Unfortunately my engg collg is right next to the **** tower. We deparately wanted someone to give a free seminar in the college so we grudgingly approached **** . they said "Sure we will do all that u want but in return we would like to employ ur students to work in call centres"

DUH!!

If u guys can lay ur hands on a FREE copy of "The Great Indian Dream" ... read a few pages and then tell me if u've ever read more pretentious stuff . EVER.
and yes please remember FREE copy only ..dont even think of spending any good moolah on **** products.
