[PG Premier League] NCR Dream Team

Hello Folks
I can only view the threads or thank/groan during my office hours.

Great to see the soaring level of enthu here. First of all thank you for nominating me as QA coach for NCR DT.

The nominations for the team will be frozen on Sunday night at 2200 hrs after which the coaches along with manager and captain will do a good amount of brain storming on the applicants.

The announcement of the team captain will be made latest by tomorrow evening 6 pm after the discussion and common consensus among coaches and manager.

We understand that the captain should be a person who can inspire all the other team members towards their end objectives, should lead by example, a person who can gell very well, a level headed person who is active throughout the season. The selection of the captain will be subject to acceptance from your side.

Then comes team selection activity which looks to be a herculien task given the quality and quantity of nominations

The main criteria for team selection would be performance in the mock cats as well as actual cat, xat etal. People who have the potential to convert BLACKIS will be the topmost priority. Rest assured that the best possible team will representt NCR and favouritism of no sort would be incorporated.

The team on paper will be limited to 15 members but there is no restriction to the number of members in the team and the support of each one of you would be lovely

We intend to share a lot of knowledge and tips enroute our ultimate aim and in the process inspire each other time to time. We shall plan about the activities that we will carry out in the coming season once the first step, i.e. team selection is achieved.

then 6th july be it... btw, can't we startover the nomination for the members again as the current list seems to have been tampered with? i mean indeed the coach and managers be selected by 6th only... but fr the rest f the team, i believe the nomination process shud be repeated, and this time, rather than going for a publically editable spreadsheet, all those willing to nominate themselves should send a mail/PM to the manager..
and it'd be nice to see a formal acceptance post from the coach nominations too...

as for the logo and team name, that can be done afterwards on reaching a common consensus, and team meets is a really nice concept... cheers!

hi puys...

would like to make a suggestion that we should try and pick a team which a right mixture of high 99 percentilers and teh puys who are improving and have that burning desire to bell the CAT. That would make the team all the more complete and fired up for the big one.

Anyways,great to have vineet as our QA coach.Could not get a better one on PG for ourselves..

Great to see so much enthu already....!
Regarding the coach and expert issue....just because i had a couple of good days doesnt mean I am an expert or something.... So, firstly I may not be the right person ( I am sure the area expert coaches are just too good).... secondly not too sure how much will i be able to contribute

Rest assured, i will help in whichever way I can...

One thing.... personally i dont think this team game is a good idea... somehow i fear you ppl are at a risk of losing focus.....I suggest always experiment and understand ur "aptitute" completely.... People might groan at me, but CAT is not a team game afterall.......but then, have fun but concentrate on ur aim...idea is dont fall in love with the competition between teams......too much funda

The first post by datkilled me has the latest list of all the nominees. It would be better to just include ur performance records in you signature or may be a link to the score repository. We can take are of the worksheet later on as well. In case someone's name is missing from that list just pm datkille me and get the list updated.

Gr8 to c the enthu among puys for the NCR DT...just awesome..m too excited myself..
my only issue with the team concept is that eventually some people will always feel they were hard-done by and this will create a bitterness in thier mouth about PG.. n thats quite natural as wel!! anyways but i ges that cant be helped..
regarding the nomination thing, i ve seen that in the previous years DT and year b4 that too, there were some members(1 or 2) who hardly contributed.. No offenses meant but i believe the coaches should take extra care to avoid this.. as in the whole purpose is to allow us to perform better and not just post our scores.. that is not to say newbies shud b discriminated against.. PLEASE dont do that.. i m just saying that while selection, this should be kept in mind!! ..

N all the nominees, BEST OF LUCK...may the best men/women be selected.,.kinda bzy wid office so only get time to post at nite!!

I completely agree with JLT here. I think it's a great idea to have a premier league, as long as we assure ourselves that we won't lose focus.

As he said, it's easy to get into this team game thing, and lose track of the bigger picture. So puys, a small suggestion would be that don't let a success or failure in this competition really affect you negatively.

When you do well, take it with a pinch of salt, and yes, encourage yourself, but don't get complacent.

On the few occasions when you don't do as well, again, don't let your morale go down.

wanted to give voice to my ideas....
i feel that we should form a core group for the different sections apart from the Coaches for QA,VA and DI.Gods like JLT,Jok3r,SumitRocks,AmitNsitian,Vineet,Aarav(Sorr y if i missed out on some names) could help us out in this if they can spare some time so that every loop hole is plugged and we could also get some quizzes going apart from the strategic advices and all those expert gyaan.More suggestions from puys please.....

NSD, I'm sure all the people whose names you mentioned will be more than glad to help, including myself.

However, instead of being a coach, I'd rather be a 'consultant' who keeps coming here at random intervals, and distributing 'gyaan'. I think only someone who is really able to spend time regularly on PG should be made a coach/manager, so I un-nominate myself.

Of course, everyone is free to write to me, and I'll do my best to respond in a timely fashion, and add some value to the preps.
