) And can one expect some free time to use it?

Hi dude,
I went to IIMB yesterday and collected my offer letter personally (Was the 2nd person to do so!!)
These are the fee details for the 1st year:
1st Trimester - Rs 1,30,000 (30K before May 19th along with your acceptance of the admit, and 1 lakh before June 2nd)
2nd and 3rd Trimester - Rs 1,35,000 each
So that adds up to 4 lakhs for Year 1. The letter says that the fees for year 2 is 5 lakhs, which will be allocated to the trimesters in the same manner
In addition, you need to pay Rs 10,000 as mess advance every trimester, and 15k as some other deposit (not sure towards what and whether it is refundable - will check that and get back to you)
There are also loan forms from SBI, SBM, Allahabad bank. Interest rates are around 11.5% - 12% (floating)
There is also a mediclaim Insurance form, and apparently we need to get a medical check up done from a Government Doctor to certify that we are physically good to undergo the course!!!! 2nd years - What is that all about ?? Makes this sound like a Boot Camp!!
Those are the important details for now......
On a side note - u should see the respect you recive when you go to IIMB as a candidate who has been made an offer (as opposed to a wannabe). I could see a marked change in the interactions with the people yesterday from some of the previous occassions!!!
I am loving it....

A couple of more queries:
a) Though fee structure might undergo change this time, Could you please tell currently what is the schedule to pay fees as in - after the intial deposit, Does the fee has to be paid anually, half-yearly etc.?
b) As the result pdf says:
As soon as seats are available in a category, waitlisted candidates will be made final admission offers strictly in rank order within their category
I beleive after some fixed periods of time, institute will be updating the wait ranks for the candidates based on the data availabe till date. Is this understanding correct? Normally, when does such first list comes ? One of the facts mentioned in the pdf is :
Candidates must courier their acceptance (along with a DD of Rs.30000 payable to Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and required documents) to the Admissions Office at IIMB to reach by Monday, May 19, 2008.

And BTW, regarding the prep course that starts from June 2nd, you will be notified in the package you recieve if you are required to attend that course. But i think if you call them up and ask, they will definitely confirm if you need to attend or not.....

Heya!
I'm a certified non-engineer (Microbiology fresher ).. So that makes it three of us!
Seniors, a few queries: - Is there a Dance Club on campus? If yes, how active is it?
- Can people who don't play anything go for the sports meets
.. say as cheerleaders?
- Is there any dress code for girls? Like.. In my undergrad college, we were not allowed to wear sleeveless and skirts!
- How many sets of formals would we need? I have 2 suits, is that enough?
- Any pointers on the AV Birla scholarship? What kinda prep is required? When would the interview be?
That would be it for now.. Will shoot more later!

a) Fees have to be paid at he beginning of each trimester
b) Since the acceptance letter has to be submitted by 19th May, the PGP office will come to know how many students are joining by then. So the first waiting list should come out within a day or two of 19th May.

- You can always go to the sports meets as cheerleaders ... no restrictions on that front..
- No dress codes ( but that does not mean you can wear just anything...)
- 2 suits should be enough though it never hurts to have more formals ( you never know when you might require it)
- For ABS tips, you will have to contact the ABS recipients.. ( Lesser mortals like me have no idea what it takes to crack ABS)

2) Does IIMB allows, refrigerator in rooms? I am planning to get one small refrigerator....
3) Does IIMB have a graded fee structure like IIMA.
PS:Tejus007, Dude have they mentioned anything abt graded fee structure in offer letter?
