Hey... just had a doubt to clear... I got thru IMT-G (IB)....Now IB was my 3rd preferance after FT and Finance...I dont want Finance... I am happy with IB (even though it was my third pref) but would prefer FT.... If by chance I get "upgraded" to Finance can I mutually exchange my seat with someone in FT who wants Finance....Or can I contact the college and tell them that I want IB as my 2nd preferance instead of 3rd....

bro if u were tht sure about Ft and thn IB thn u shud hv given IB as ur 2nd choice

thts y its very important to have given d preferences after a lotta thought.

However in this case,u can not swap ur seat..it aint possible

however call d concerned person in d admission cell asap n ask if u can be considered for upgradation to FT alone

thr seems to be a lot of confusion regardin d waitlisted ppl gettin imt n and not imt g

food for thought:

A lotta ppl here hv given d preferences as follows:

1.imt g FT
2.imt g Fin
3.imt g IB
4.imt n FT

As u all know admission is based on d cumilative score of CAT,gd,pi,work ex...

so if in d above case ur score clears the cutoff for imt n FT but doesnt clear d cut off for imt g IB and as u hv given it as pref 4 u wud be given admission for imt n FT

also as mentioned by sm1 before tht his CAT %ile is below 96 and is still waitlisted

d resaon being tht he hasnt cleared d cutoff for any of his preferences

so guys, if u were waitlisted and hv mentioned imt N FT over imt g HR (say) in d preference list

and if d cutoff for imt n(FT) is more than imt g(HR) then u automatically get admitted in d course which is higher on ur preference list

Hey thanx for the prompt reply... Just wanted to get a couple of doubts cleared..

• I want to major in marketing. Are the students who major in marketing in IB and those in FT eligible to sit for placements for the same companies? or is the process for IB different?
• I had read somewhere that to be eligible for lateral placements one needs to complete 22 months of work ex.... Well ,I will complete 21 months and 3 weeks by the time college starts...Is the figure of 22 mnths carved in stone or is there any flexibility on that part?

The full time MBA course which they are offering , is it like those of othr coll or do we specialize in marketing after doin that course...

The troublesome quesion remains

why cant we be cosidered for IMT Ghzbd given that the preference sheet has all IMT G courses above IMT N, in case the waitlist moves further?

What is this irrational embargo for :( ?
