Me from chd. And knowing the univ in n out I can assure u ubs is much much hyped about institute.
Why?
1.No of seats
50 odd for nri's, 40 general and 35 reserved. Those goin by sheer cat merit a mere third. The figure for nri's mentioned is 40 odd but I know it has beeen incresed as I happen to be related to 2 ppl. in the pu senate.
2. They have like fms an ordinary infrasturcture. They boast of big things but then all that is a part of the univ of which they are a small part.
3. The whole setup is of univs gundagardi n stuff evenat the hostels.
4. ubs ppl unlike most of the good b schools are known to be much much more free n relaxed. The burdens are very less. If u wanna party and have just a gud tyime for 2 yrs.

Then how come these 13th, 16th rankings?
1. All Univ profs have links thro which they end up givin a lot of papers and most of them have phd from pu itself tho!!! So high on intellectual capital
2. Placements are with big firm small money or small firm big money. Nothing to satisfy a aspiring big b-schooler. Most NRI's bring along big firms to hire themselves hence gettin the good placement performance. So if in NRI, UBS rocks.
3. Infrastructure of the univ is called the infra of ubs, go chech the solitary building shared with public adminstration dept. to c for urself how tiny it is actually.
4. Being in univ activity is more, oppertunity and invitation of programmes for both faculty and students is much greater. Hence ratings are hyped.
Being from chd. and having been in a region of 95-99 percentile most of the time I hence din find it fitting to apply to ubs. Believe me most of the ppl in general with descent cat scores havn't.
So, anyone in the nri category, or sports, or nri sponsored or defence or reserved or etc etc. please have a gud time at one of the most hyped about insti's of the nation.
N those who do feel there's calibre in them to go to real good b-schools and be gud MBA's look for
imi, tapmi, fore, mica, kj somaiya, nmims, imt etc. instead or even add a couple of percentiles and get thro cat again.
My bestwishes. Im doin this unselfishly and hope those in gen do not take this as a misleading post. I'm thro to other b schools and since I belong to chd and have parents associated to the univ. I'm letting u guys know.
