Hi
My sincere apologies for being sooo blunt. There are many reasons for not taking BPO. One of the reasons that I did not take up a BPO offer (although it pays much more, is a strong MNC brand on resume and offers good work envirnonment, esp. when compared to my sales job) was becuase when I spoke to my seniors from college who are now in the top IIMs is the very few number of BPOers in IIMs.

Reason dished out were
1. too many BPOers,
2. not the most demanding of jobs in terms of learning value (I am sure I will be beaten up for the last part).

Anyway, wud seriouslky like to know how mnay made it into IIMs and XL with a BPO background. May just accept the next BPO job that comes my way.

One thread where I don't need to put my head down!!

Well my story goes as follows....

2001 - Uninititated ....No calls anywhere!

2002 - Joined IMS but had to abort in June due to an 8 months onsite trip!

2003 - CAT 96.2%ile *NO CALLS*! Only call from SPJ and didn't convert.

2004 - Planning GMAT & simultaneously part-time PGSM @ IIM-B/IIM-K/XL etc.
[Added Later:]
Wrote CAT 2004 since it was compulsory for PGSM, got a fulltime call from IIMB, managed to convert it! Glad to be finally out of this infinite "repeat-cat" loop!

regards,
Praveen

Hi Fellas,
Seems awkward writing about the desire of trouncing CAT 2004, a third real effort.
2002 -> What is there in CAT? The wjole world seemed to be giving it
That gave me 80% and Boy! It sure was exciting.
Well got placed in Infosys
That made me thrilled, well I have a job, ab work ex ke zariye billi ko pakadenge.
What an ???
2003 -> Joined Infy Blr had training till December.
Cat 2003 was simply a disaster. Experianced , better was mauled to death.
Re-test ? Yeah.. had 3 weeks to study midst job oriented training. Lets see what may come ?
Scores in home mocks improved in just 2 weeks.. reached once 70 in IMS SimCat.
Was Amazed at my score , cat will be in the bag this year... Looming false confidence.
Disaster strikes twice ? Spent 50 minutes in English, was enjoying the language
Quant was literally bowled over
DI was length I dunno ?
So thats the story.
This CAT I have to bag, else I am doomed.
So, what say people, shall we give one last fight.
Who cares abt petty battles, we will WIN the WAR !
