Hey spirit11 and sarvshwet,
Just wanted to correct ur facts... NITIE's cut-off has been around 98.2 percentile for general category... where as other's have been way below 98...
The fact can be verified from the post of the Puys themselves who got a call from NITIE, on the NITIE's admission thread...
Cheers,

You could try out IMI, IMT ,Nirma , TAPMI , FORE, KJS, Welingkar
You could also fill
MDI = cutoff 97 percentile in 2007
NITIE = cutoff 98.2 in 2007
Write other exams like XAT, FMS, JMET, CET too in case u definitely wanna make it this year..

Hey .. I think speculating the calls at this moment will not be a good idea bcoz the no of students giving CAT might increase to 300k this year i.e. 3000 in one percentile... But if u look at this years trend then i would say
IMI - nothing less than 96.5+
TAPMI- expect call even at 87% ..if u have a good profile then good chance of converting that..
IMT-- Ghaziabaad don expect to convert if u r in lower 96%'s:huh: ..97 would be a good bet
NIRMA-- 91+ .. but i can tell u most of guys in our batch have 95+ percentile with work ex and few countable were selected at 91-92 :bigear:
FORE, LBS, UBS,KJSOM-- Any time call at 96
SPJain-- No cutoff barrier, all depends upon profile ...but at least 90% is required
Glakes ..90+ with good profile will fetch a call....IT engg ..97% and a very good profile will make ur chances brighter:boat:....
I hope this info will help puys...This is a result of 4 years of CAT analysis

Well, i agree to what Manish & other bskoolers say
As of now , no one can predict the cutoffs because cutoffs are a measure of various factors including no of CAT aspirants & no of applications recd. by the college ..
As far as specific colleges go , nowadays many colleges have started giving increasing importance to Profile incl. work exp.
Acc. to me some of the cutoffs this year may look like :
MDI : Arnd 97.5 %ile ( With Sectionals )
IMI : Arnd 96.5 %ile ( With 50 sectionals,as last year )
IMT-G : 95-96 %ile
SPJain : No issues of CAT cutoff ...Profile matters ...generally above 90
GLakes : Experience matters :sarcasm:( Usually 90%ile..though nothing can be said )
NIRMA(IMNU) : 91-92%ile
UBS:90-92%ile
FORE,KJS: 90-92%ile
IMT Nagpur : 85%ile
DO remember one thing that most of the institutes gives high weightage to CAT scores at the time of final selection, so try to maximise ur scores...
All The Best !!!!

Hi can anyone give a list of all the A+ category B-schools which are known for their Finance courses and not going by the placements alone ?
The list according to my perception is :
1) IIM's (all .. including IIM shillong .. even though it was ranked 27th in Pagalguy 2008 rankings)
2) MDI gurgaon
3) FMS
4) XLRI
5) IIFT Delhi
6) SP Jain
7) ISB hyderabad
 Narsee Monjee
Any additions/ deletions from this list .. please suggest !

though i know that this is a discussion forum for BSkools, i have a serious doubt about my career that i would like your advice on. I am a 2008 pass out engg student and my cat score in 2007 was 98.5%ile. i didnt get any calls from IIM and had applied only for MDI-HR and TAPMI, both the calls i converted but did not join as i thought that i can give another shot at the PGPM. Now i have passed out this year in April and am placed at TCS. The date of joining is in september/october and from june i have been at home. I did try for other jobs and did get offer letters from 5 companies but none of them were worth it. So i joined a social organisation and am a coordinator for 1 of their social activities. now my doubts are:
(1)Will this break for 2-3 months affect my chances. I mean in GD/PI what can i tell the interviewers if they ask me about this break. Any suggestions as to what else i can do to improve my profile during this time.
(2) Since i have offers from a few companies, should i join them. The problem is these offers are not as good as my current job prospects in TCS.
Any reply is deeply appreciated. Thanks a lot guys

hi..
what you are going thru is absolutely normal, you dont have to worry about what you would say in the interview... what you have done in this time is more than good you should wait for the joining of TCS and in the mean time prepare hard for cat and continue working for NGO as it would be a good thing you can project during your interview
