Dude, First things first...you should not reveal your personal email adresses on this forum. So, please edit your post.

Then, you picked up a 2 year old thread...u can go to this thread for better predictions

http://www.pagalguy.com/forum/cat-re...stalwarts.html

Frankly, your total is pretty less...will equate for abt 83 %ile. Getting calls from decent colleges wud be difficult.

I just thought that this analysis would help you all to know where stood in the last CAT and how much effort is to be needed for the next one. So, without much wait I start my analysis.

Data gathered:
1. from this forum, other forums, coaching sites and my friends who too cat for Last 2 years.

Assumptions:
1. The cat marking strategy is +1 for correct answer -0.25 for wrong answer.
2. The scores you all have submitted are correct as per your best knowledge.
3. Since the pattern for CAT for past two years (since 2001) have been more or less same there won't be much variation in the general distribution of the expected score.

CAT this year was on the same lines 150 questions spread across three sections and each section has more or less the same difficulty level for past 2 years.
Verbal: moderate difficulty
DI: Easy
Quant: tough

Note: 1.27 Lakh ppl took CAT this year

So keeping on this line these would be the expected percentile (overall) one can expected based on your expected overall scores:

97+ Man you can see yourself All India top 5 or 6. 100%
75+ - 97 99.90% to 99.99%
62+ - 75 99.00% to 99.90%
55+ - 62 98.00% to 99.00%

Below this I was not in a position to estimate as mostly ppl scoring good update their scores on the sites.

One can assume uniform distribution between the two higher and lower score margin of a slab.
ex.
if you score is 58.25 then your percentile would be
98.00 + [(58.25 - 55)/(62 - 55) * 1] = 98.46

if you score is 68.25 then your percentile would be
99.00 + [(68.25 - 62)/(75 - 62) * 0.9] = 99.43

Well so ppl don't loose hope as you can see that even with bit of efforts you can scale your percentile by 1%.
Also since CAT takes individual performance in each of the sections into considerations ppl with score around 50 averaged well over 3 sections also have chance of getting calls from some IIM's.

So, ppl hope you have found my analysis useful, and all the best for next CAT.
hey man
nice work. This encourages me alot and i think this 'll help me and others.
I don't how u got it..... but it was really very C00L..
