I admire your dedication, dude!
14 hr work + 1 hr travel time (assuming u travel to work) + 1 hr (bathing, washing) + 1 hr (meal times) + 5 hrs sleep (assuming u sleep) = 22 hrs.

Shaving off time from above is always gonna be tough.. Management is for people like u, my friend!

Re: Working for 12-14 hours and preparing for MBA - 27-03-2006, 02:37 PM

Hi puys !!!

I have been wondering about this question (how to prepare for CAT while working) for the past 2 years.
how to study for CAT while working in an IT comapnay for atleast 12 hours everyday??????: ??: ??:
CAT 2005 was my third attempt. My my poor planning and work pressure together let me down again.:( :( :( But then i have decided to apear for CAT again for fourth time :grab:

First of all.. for people like us ...TIME MANAGAMENT is the most important thing. On first hand, Forget about wht to study. Try to answer urself... when to study???

I suggest... try taking out some time in the morning. Get up at 5 or 6 in the morning depending on work pressure and sleep requirements wrt previous day/night . One has to take out at least 1.5 hrs in the morning. That should be for quant / DI / Reasoning.

Verbal/RC prep shud be done in the night time after coming from office. Try to take at least 1 hr for reading/word lists/grammer.

So thr r two time slots. One in the morning and other in the night. Morning for non verbal stuff and night for verbal/RC stuff.

BUT... this shud be on a daily basis or atleast on a 5 day per week basis. Practice ...practice n more practice. Thr's no substitute for that.
This is how one can take some time.
Now u ppl decide wht to study n when as per ur convenience and comfort.

Re: Working for 12-14 hours and preparing for MBA - 27-03-2006, 03:14 PM

guyz....lots of people say lots of things!! its easier sid than done!!..i've been working for las t 1 n 1/2 years.preparing for CAT.but like everyone facing the same old problem with no answer (no fulproof answer ): When to study??
i think people like me who works for s/w industry faces this very much..as we know when to come to office but dont know when we'll be leaving the office..

Guyz...i think what we can do best is to take out some time during office hour for ourself and study in office...instead of coming back to room(after coming very few people has the energy to do anything else but sleep)..

for improving verbal ..we can read a lil bit of article on daily basis...what u say guyz..??
does anyone have any good link for this???

ciaoo..

If u don take a chance , u don stand a chance!!!
