Re: What is Cut-off for CAT based colleges?? - 06-11-2009, 02:02 PM

Hi,

I am giving CAT for first time.
My profile is as follows:
X: 84%
XII : 81%
B.Tech : 83%
WorkEx : 31 months till now.

Not been involved into many ecc in my academic days. but surely have taken part into many competitions viz. GK, Comp.Sci. Been till 3rd round of Imagine Cup'06.
In worklife, i have taken part in quite a number of ecc and other competitions.

I am constantly getting around 70-80%ile in AIMCATs.

What %ile i can expect in CAT.. (around).

According to my profile, shall i try in SPJIMR (since they give much stress on ecc, i am a lil skeptical in filling the form)...??

IMI-94-95 %tile
NIRMA-atleast 90%tile,60%tile in va
UBS-more than 90%tile
Fore-92%tile
IMT-not less than 96% for ghaziabad
IFMR-90-92%tile
Sectional cutoffs as well.

This is just a rough estimate.Apply to b schools only after considering your performance in mock cats.Don't be dejected if you haven't scored in 90s.A lot of people who got in 70s in mcs got over 90s in the main paper.I am hoping to be one of those persons.

Hi friend..
you are aspiring to be a manager and you will have to manage a lot in future on your own.. you can not always wait for things to be done for you..
for the 9 colleges you have asked, the cut off of 6 have been given in just 3 posts above yours..
and for the rest 3 colleges i am sure that you will get them in previous two-three pages.. so please take a little pain yourself to explore..

thanks

Dear Puy

Thank you for the quick response and I appreciate the point that is made. On the contrary, I would opine that at such crucial time with the D-day approaching close, I would better concentrate on my preparation and not waste time in taking "PAINS". I am sure one knows about the thoughts rushing in one's mind at this point of time.

However, the figures mentioned in the above post are not accurate. They give a range or thresholds. I am looking for some concrete figures and not something less than XXXX or atleast XXXX. This was the reason for such a post.

Kindly help.

Best Regards
Chen

MDI - 98.5
SP Jain - 85
IMI -
IMT - 91
Fore - 91
UBS - 92
NIRMA - 90
LBS - 91.86
K J Somaiya - 93

I have been in the same situation a year before and i know how it feels but browsing through 2-3 pages won't take much time.. will it?
After all we are here to help each other...
