hi guys!
iam a 3rd year student of a venky..i got selected in in wipro through campus placement..they are sponsering for an MS from bits pilani ..i'l have to work for them as well..but iam still in two minds..shud i go for it or take cat 05..i'l get a stipend during the 4 year course cum work period..and after that if i leave wipro i'l reatain that MS degree...pleaaaaase enlighten me guys....
CAT 05 or wipro?? btw i have heard wipro has a collaboration with IIM B ...is this true?

hey i wud suggest wipro instead of CAT........even if you are not getting that MS degree.......its better to try for a B-school after some work-ex

Make up if its tech/mgmt first !!! Thats something you need to take a call on before any of these...

well..eventually its gona b mgmt. but tech is basically for work ex and may b 4 an extra qual in hand.......

oh yes right.but why u r interested in management? see,u r getting such a good job in a such a good company and prospects of doing MS from BITS ,pilani.already CAT is a fish market.every other engineer wants to become an yum bee ye.why dont u become a good techie and float ur own company in few years which wil hire more engineers and they will code for all over the world.then u can be a techie cum manager by ur ownself.think over this.have u heard the quote:
"the world is getting polarised,between people who give CAT and who don't"...so why join the rat race...think of something different.

btw,please pardon my ignorance,what is the full name of ur college and where it is.i dont know for what "venky" stands for.is it related to our fast bowler Venkatesh Prasad?

hehehe, venky stands for SVCE or sri venkateshwara college of engg. anyway to go on about the wipro offer, wipro visited my college too. the stuff about MS in BITS and MBA in IIMB, they promised too. They said that such opportunities exist in Wipro as they have sponsored seats in such instis, but they never said anything as some guy will surely get. Brother, did wipro actually assure you that they'll make u study MS in BITS? I dont think they would have. Thats the catch. Anyway, i think u have time till the end of fourth year to decide whether or not u are taking up the job. by then CAT 2005 would also have been over. SO u will know where u stand.

thats bull s**t mate. its applicable every where and to every one. as i said, thats the catch. also what,not everyone is goona do PGs in BITS and IIMB, they may have about 1 or 2 seats in the instis or maybe a separate course catered in these istis specially for Wipro guys. Not everyone who joins Wipro does PGP in IIMB or MS from BITS.

well this bits pilani MS is what they are offering..and in return we'll have 2 work 4 them without any salary though they'l be giving us a stipend which starts with arnd 7000 in 1st year and ends with 16000 in the 4th year.and after that we are free 2 join any other company or continue with wipro..what ive heard is if we leave wipro and join some other firm after completing MS the package is gonna be good depending upon the firm but for 4 years we'll have 2 slog our ass out in wipro...and this iimb thing is obviously not offered 2 everybody who has been selected..after working for an year in wipro we'll be eligible to appear for cat through wipro and the required percentile would be lower as it 'll be an industry sponsered seat..this year it was around 85...but obviously iimb eligibilty also depends on how u perform in wipro..
