Cognizant is visiting our campus tomorrow
I have already been placed in TCS ...just want to know if cogni is a better option
if i get selected then i may not be able to sit for any other companies other than intel google etc which are outta my league anywayz
i am having the same dilemma with Quark,Nagarro,Mindtree
Please tell me what these companies are like and their standing wrt TCS

anlytical and reasoning paper(time one hour).

Q1. there are 3 different coloured balls in a bag. without looking, in how many pickings can you actually determine at least that a pair of balls has the same colour?(3 marks).
ans: 4

Q2. there is a city in which there are 100 men. of these 100 men 85 have a mobile phone, 75 have a car, 65 have a house. wht is the least number of men who have a car a house and a mobile phone.(4 marks).

Q3. don't remember the exact question, but will try.
i was coming down a stairway. i had come down 7 steps when i saw my professor at the ground level, just starting to come up. when there wher four steps left for me to go down i noticed that the prof. had already gone up the whole way. if for every step that i take my prof. takes two, wht are the no. of stairs actually there in the stair way.?(5 marks)
Ans: 22 steps

Q4.there was a school race going on.one-third of the number of children who were in front of me added to tree-fourths of the childrens behind me gives me the total no. of children in the race? wht is the no. of children participating in the race?(4 marks).

Q5.age problem was there. very easy(3 marks).

Q6. manish goes to his school from his house every day passing two stations.one is a railway road station, another is a bus stop station.
when he has travelled one-fourths of whole distance he reaches the railway station , where the clock shows the time as 7:30, going further when he reaches the bus stop station, covering 1/3 of the whole distance, the clock there shows 7:35. when did manish leave his house and at wht time did he reac his school?(5 marks)
ans: 7:15 and reaches at 8:15.

Q7.read the statements below
I. every lodge is represented by a group of exactly 3 men.
II. for every pair of lodges, taken there is only one man in common.
III. each man can only represent exactly two times for the lodges
what is the number of men?
what is the number of lodges?(8 marks).
ans: 4 lodges 6 men(please check).

Q 8. ruben and cynthia went to shop in a mall.
ruben bought one suit and one hat for Rs. 15.cynthia bought a hat for same price as that of ruben's suit, and a new dress.
it was also found out that cynthia's new dress for Rs 1 more than ruben's hat.

suddenly cynthia says to ruben:"if we had distributed our hat money differently then we would have spent the same amount for the shopping".

a)what is the total sum both spent on the items?ans: 29(please check)
b)wht was the amount spent by ruben on the hat?

Q9.a simple reasoning question as are there in gre's barron's guide.
it was regarding 7 gems that were on display at a jewelers shop.the gems were a diamond, sapphire, emerald, ruby, topaz,opal, garnet.then a set of coditions was given:
I. only three gems can be displayed at a time in the two boxes(left and right one).
II.the diamond was to placed in only the right display box.
III. the ruby has to be placed in only the lft box.
IV. the emerald and sapphire are to placed together.

then four MCQ's were given.(very easy)(8marks).

Q 10.Four persons A, B, C and D are playing cards.
Each person has one card, laid down on the table below him, which has two different colours on either side.
The colours visible on the table are Red, Green, Red and Blue.
They see the color on the reverse side and give the following comment.
A: Yellow or Green
B: Neither Blue nor Green
C: Blue or Yellow
D: Blue or Yellow
Given that out of the 4 people 2 always lie find out the colours on the cards each person(8 marks)ans: yellow, yellow, green, blue respectively.
