but my frnd has only cognizant converted and he wanna kno the work enviro etc. thr

Now there r two types of ppl.....
1) those who wanna do mba after 1 yr or so, so the salary will not matter to them....
2) those who wanna make carrer in tech. only.
Any i can bet with 100% certainty of winning tht ur frnd who is stuck at 2.3L per annum even after 2 years must be an underperformer. sorry to say tht but thts the truth....
Bcoz cogni junta goes for a appraisal at following times in their carrer
----after 6 mnths i.e. at the time of confirmation(no salary increase)
----after 1 years. salary increase(arnd 20% average) is based on the appraisal done by manager(incentives range from nil to 50k. 20k is offered in the first year, but if u perform well u can increase it upto 35K and also decrease to nil)
---every subsequent year thereafter(incentives r whooping 35K+ for gud perfomers) and salary increase is based on the appraisal done by the manager...(in the range of 30% average)

best thing about cogni is the ratio between ur inhand salary and monthly gross.
its the highest among all the companies.....(mine is 14k out of 14.5k due to intelligent tax savings
