ppl joining cognizant chennai....

well i have also been selected in cts but i havent got any joining letter from them. well i wud like to know wat kinda work is there,work environment, onsite prospects , take home salary,enuf time to study if preparing for mba.
it wud really help if someone cud throw some light on these issues. thanx

+ 11.5K of gratuity per annum, but it will be counted only after 3 years of association wid cognizant....

In case u r planning to do an MBA .... U can straightaway join CTS coz the work culture abets your purpose as well as the work hours are flexible barring a few projects....
Moreover the brand value of CTS is HUGE

and infact at any company, life of an IT professional depends on the shrewedness of his/her project lead

Wherever i go i find infy, wipro, tcs and cts . I am in a hell of a situation guys and if you can help me please help me i will ever be so greatful to all of you.

The problem is i am placed in Kanbay as well as Flextronics (formerly known as Hughes ). I have to join kanbay on may 13th and i am still at my wits' end and am not able to decide. This is my final call for help as i have posted in umpteen no. of threads reg the same but to no avail...
Please help the poor soul!!!!!!

But Me still wondering about the joining date. I was told that the next batch starts by 6th of May. If that be the case, when are we gonna be intimated considering there's only a week left. Do they always intimate so close to the join date.

And bookophobic, cheer up man! I'm sure someone will guide ya. As for me, I know nothing 'bout which is better in these 2 companies. Don't lose hope. BTW what's the pay pack for both of these.

And Rajsher, how long have you been with Cognizant. Jammer, lemme know if u get any news from Cognizant.

U surely r gonna hv a grt time at cognizant(except in case u get caught in the hands of a real shrewd Project lead)

I joined 9 mnths back.....

I was selected on campus so cant say when u will receive the joining letter. u shud call at the office and confirm.
i will let u kno the time frame b4 which they intimate the off campus joinees.....ASAP

Dude, srry to be a spoilsport but i just met with a senior who is working in CTS for 2 years now (hope u know him, his name is teja). He was saying that there arent any appraisals in cts and he is still stuck with what he got initially i.e. 2.3 what say dude?? ofcourse cheero

look yaar,

v can think abt this stuff only if u have 2 or more offers at hand.
but my frnd has only cognizant converted and he wanna kno the work enviro etc. thr
I just made him feel at hm when he joins cogni.......

Now there r two types of ppl.....
1) those who wanna do mba after 1 yr or so, so the salary will not matter to them....
2) those who wanna make carrer in tech. only.

Any i can bet with 100% certainty of winning tht ur frnd who is stuck at 2.3L per annum even after 2 years must be an underperformer. sorry to say tht but thts the truth....

Bcoz cogni junta goes for a appraisal at following times in their carrer
----after 6 mnths i.e. at the time of confirmation(no salary increase)
----after 1 years. salary increase(arnd 20% average) is based on the appraisal done by manager(incentives range from nil to 50k. 20k is offered in the first year, but if u perform well u can increase it upto 35K and also decrease to nil)
---every subsequent year thereafter(incentives r whooping 35K+ for gud perfomers) and salary increase is based on the appraisal done by the manager...(in the range of 30% average)

best thing about cogni is the ratio between ur inhand salary and monthly gross.
its the highest among all the companies.....(mine is 14k out of 14.5k due to intelligent tax savings )
