To study MBA or not? Plz help - 03-06-2008, 10:52 AM

Hi friends,I am in a dilemma. I have been trying for last 2 years to get in a good college for MBA. But I could not get through in any good college.I am currently working with TCS for last 2 and half years. This year I sat for MHCET and scored 133/200 there. Hope to get a call from Dept. of Mgmt. Studies, Pune University. I am really confused about whether to join this college or study for another year to get a better college. Not sure whether the next year will be a productive one or not bcoz if my work pressure increases, I will not get time to prepare. Is it worthwhile with my work ex to join this college? I am very frustrated with myself. Can anybody help me in making my decision?

Hi Don,

First, I would like to stress that the only person who can make a decision for you is yourself.

Understanding your situation and concerns, I would suggest you to start preparing yourself early if you want to join a top business school to further your education such as a MBA or similar. You may need as long as 9 months for your preparation in order to get into a good school. Doing well in GMAT, getting referees, demonstrating your leadership potential in your jobs are some of the indicators to recruiters from top business schools when they are looking for new MBAs.

All the best.

Kind regards,
Thomas
