Hey dude .. cool man

i understood ur in deep frustration ... but the fact is this situation ( i mean what u said software industry is not going well ) won't be for long time ... these fluctuations are common here ...

i strongly suggest you be Possitive first ...
u r the guy already placed in fortune 100 MNC ( of corse in withheld .. temp ..i guess .. surely u will get call soon )
If u r in so depression .. what about the lakhs of Techies who doesn't have even campus recruitment facility .... & commimg out of campuses with full of hopes in future ...

I would like to remember the situation what happened in 2001 .. when i freshly joined in engineering college .. one local news paper has highlighted " a girl having 80% in Btech ECE ( from JNTU campus ) is joined as typist in some government office for 2000/- per month ... just because software industry was not doing well " ... after reading that almost a week i was so depressed too ...

After almost 6 years i am here in one of the top MNC ..

So as u will laugh at ur self one day remembering that u thought so in the past .. TRUST ME .

Keep your mind busy allways ..... RED ( SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION )

stiffler is right....

Also buddy DOJ is the next thing for job.. so dont worry on that aspect... I am still awaiting my offer letter even being selected 2 months back... Its normal. This happens in campus recruitments.

Dont worry and be calm.. think for corporate life now....

Regarding your thoughts on MBA.. its good but than if you try it now.. u will be creating more burden on u.. as MBA means more 2 years of fund locking. Also you would be asked in interviews Ki Y u did BCA,MCA if u wanted to join MBA.. etc... instead u could have worked and all...

So you complete your MCA,join IBM.. work for 2+years and than plan for MBA... and soon you will realise that u would be in best position than...

@mcaguy,

You are fretting about not getting your doj .Think of the lakhs of students who still dont have a job at hand . Don't confuse yourself over a silly issue . Even when the IT industry was in boom many had their dojs postponed because of organizing issues . Companies have to plan many things before getting people on board.

The problem is your DOJ and you have named the thread "future of software professionals"

hmm....tough luck buddy.
all i can say is that you need to try your luck with other companies. i understand that they are delaying DoJ too, but thats the best you can do.
apply for all the companies you can and leave the rest to fate.

Its too late to think of an MBA for the current academic year. if you're targeting an MBA, then you might as well apply to as many companies as you can and then write CAT/XAT this coming November.

The deal is like this Mr MCA.
Take infosys for instance, after a graduate is recruited, he/she is trained. even if the graduate is a comp sc. engineer he will be trained for 3 weeks.
now there might be some project, where they need a person trained in say .NET, but dont have enough time to put him through the infy training. so if such an opining comes up, they might select you, as you have masters in Computers and thus are expected to be pretty comfortable with programming languages without the need of being trained.

selection criteria is pretty confusing. im not too sure if even they know what they do

as i already said. even if you opt for an MBA, you're too late for this academic year, unless you want to get into any damn college. in case you're trageting a good college-which i hope you are-the whole admission process doesnt start until CAT-08, which will be sometime in Nov-08.
