i completed my b.com(h) from delhi university with a aggregate of 58% and was pursuing CA but just got stuck in ca inter and due to lot of pressure from my parents had to join this college who just wanted me to get a degree .Also my younger brother is in 2nd year CS @ iiit hyd and that had put lots of pressure on me since i was put in a embarassing position ...
BUt i am not all happy with my college and its level of studies and other things which are very very imp...
plz advice me shd i try to give a try for icfai or any other good college where i can really learn something ?? or are there any programs after mba which i can do ?
plz advice me coz i am really feeling depressed since i had worked hard all my life with aggregates of over 83% in both 10th and 12th and over 65% in 1st and 2nd year in b.com (h) but dont know what transpired in my final year got an aggregate of 45% and even failed in ca exams . and many of my frnds who hav not worked half as i did have got into icfai and welinkar and all and i am sulking and dying in my college

Dear Jagdeep either remove "India" from your name or stop being depressed
Before you get a lot of PG gyan and instructions from existing/prospective moderators, lemme tell you that we are a forum with information as our main mantra, so regrding your troubles its your call and you only can make/beark your destiny, if you are not happy with your existing institute I'll ask you to hang on till January (ya you can fail a bit, no issues here) give all major exams starting with MAT as the last date to fill form there is 11, August only.
After this take a fresh decision depending on your performance and credentials, buddy just remember that I don't no what you have lost but certainly you have 40 years to utilise lying ahead.............take them like FOUR Different decades and live them all one at a time uniquely, so just go ahead and you can even dump that institute if you believe you can do much more other way round

Cheers
Andy

P.S. Yet again some post on soon to die thread:huh:....per bachha newbie hai, pamper nahin kiya to bhaag jaayega

1.) complete this MBA
2.) target a job of 4.0 LPA even if u get 3.0 its ok

3.) after few year you can go for second MBA or you can try executive mba from iims or other top colleges like xlri spjain fms

4.) you can complete CFA (US )

then your career will start rocking also even in iiit hyd average salery is not more than 3-4 lac
if you have some more doubt you can ask here

For me
Journey to IIM : Paapon ka prayshchit

Let us know your college name to better absorb the issue.

Average salaries in CA are also in range of 3-4 lakhs. Few will get 5 + but that are few and far in between. If your placement stats are right, 3 lakh p.a is a very decent salary to start with. Career needs one thing: 'Fantastic experience'. All the education be MBA, CA or CFA is elementary and real education is 3-5 years of solid performance oriented work experience.

Focus on your MBA. You performed extremely well in B.com hons 1st and second year. You can repeat same performance and get in top 5% of the class which means superb placements.

Well think over following courses on the given order and see what fit in your scheme of things:-
  1. CFA (International one)
  2. FRM (International again) or PMR:neutral:
  3. CFA (Elite Univ. in tripura)
I think I am missing something up here but that may be primarily as we are takling here specifically from getting a job point of view and thus things like NSE papers in respective area hav. been delibrately left as they give you good learning and value addition to ur CV but getting job in Finance solely on the basis on them is still far away.

Regards and Be Ambitious!

Andy.

Firstly, its not FMR. It is FRM (Financial Risk Manager).
Secondly, its not PMR. Its PRM ( Professional Risk Manager).

Both are competing international risk qualifications.
