Infosys or Mindtree? Please Help - 15-07-2007, 02:33 PM

Hi

Can anyone please help me which will be the better option between Infosys and Mindtree? I feel both are same except Reputation where Infosys wins.

I want to move to a company where I can settle for a while say 5 yrs.. So even this has to be considered.

infy is ofcourse a leading global player but in infy u are like a drop in ocean. but mindtree comparatively smaller is niche player with focus on telecom vertical. so your choice should depend on the domain your intrested in.

Also, Do read the fine print of the CTC packages offered by both companies. Once you sit down and do those calculations, you can see a tangible difference in the salaries offered. You should be able to make a good decision then.

what exactly do u expect when u mean work culture??
the ppl here are co-operative, but there are exceptions
there is a lot of drive from the corporate level to make things simpler
work life balance is something that the company is taking up pro actively to ensure a happy workforce

we have awesome offices, where the mood to work is amazing.
there are lot of activities that happen every now and then where u can be a part of
lot many clubs and informal groups which range from photography to debate to environment exist here, which you can be a part of

one of the things which many consider a draw back in infy, that is the sheer number of ppl who are present is actually one of infy's core strength.
it wld not have been possible to do the things infy does, in terms of involvement in activities if infy was a small organization of 5000 ppl.

also its very important to know that infy is not an organization where 60000+ employees are present just cause the company liked recruiting ppl, we have 60000 employees cause the company is doing very well business wise.

an employee in infy is not like a drop in an ocean, we're like the various rivers which flow into one big ocean. a sincere effort is recogonized very well, as there are DM's SPM's etc who are on the look out for awards or recognition to their account. again there are exceptions
so be very careful while u decide

pardon me if the language seemed very raw, i am a little busy to review what i am writting, if u want anything specfic, kindly post the same

Bharath, I guess you didn't mention where you are working. Are you working in Infosys?

I would say Mindtree is far better that Infosys.. As already said Infosys is like ocean. And employee respect is missing in infosys. It can be either due to large company setup or due to fast growing rate of company. sometime infy is least worried about employees. Mindtree has its own values. And more over work culture is superb....In Infy work environment is good.you will have everything inside the campus to makesure you don't move to outside the campus which affects work..... Moreover Employee respect, i can say Mindtree stands far ahead when compared to Infosys

How i can say this is - I have worked with infy for 4 years and now working with Mindtree

u might be right with saying it for freshers
but for someone with 4-5 years of work experience Infy is really a very good option.
