Kindly check the requirements of Berkley ,do they require a GRE or a GMAT?,many of the MFE programmes require a GRE score since they are attached with the Engineering Schools,in Berkley's case thought it is offered by the Haas School of Business.
You can see the profile of the current students over here:
Master's in Financial Engineering (MFE) Program - Student Bios
See if you fit into the kind of profiles they want.
My advice to you would be to first get some fin related exposure before embarking on another degree particularly one as specialized as the MFE.If getting into finance is your only motive then it may not be such a good option because the kind of roles offered to you wuld be from a narrow range(Risk management,Derivatives pricing,Quant Modeling,Trading etc) For the M&A and Corp Finance type of profiles MFE does not make any sense.
And if you finally decide to go for it don't limit yourself to Berkley, other programmes at Columbia,CMU,Georgia Tech etc are equally good.
I know a senior of mine who is going to Berkley for an MFE this summer ,he had bout 18 months work ex with Oracle +a stint at NSE ,will have to look up his contact though and weather he has the time and inclination to help you out.
