hi guys and gals
i am an s7 ECE student and got offers from infy and HCL. i am confused and cant choose
between these ,Infy is IT giant and hcl does vlsi and embedded systems development.i would like to work in an electonics field but please advise whether its worth risking
infy offer.
excuse me if i sound boring .please mail your valuable suggetions and guide me through this confusion.

AFAIK, HCL Tech does this vlsi and embedded work in NOIDA facility. no idea abt infy in this field..if u are really interested in electronics, go to HCL

Dont join any...try to get into ST Micro , ITTIAM etc...

I do not know much about HCL in particular but if you really like electronics, go for it.
I know my friends who were not really interested in IT but joined Infy,TCS etc, later repented and went for MS.

So better follow your instinct, don't fall for brands.

I feel you would get more exposure in HCL than in Infy since you are from ECE
background.

Infy as a company has lost its sheen due to the sheer no of people its recruiting.

The more difficult to get into the company ,the higher its value .

HCL tech in general is not a VLSI/embedded company. And neither is Infy. Both are project based companies. If there is any VLSI/embedded project then u can get embedded work in these companies. And it is normally not in ur hand. U can get any work C/C++/Java/SAP/Mainframe in these companies. Better to join Infy b/w HCL and infy. Infy has lots of onsite opportunities and also better training....



If u want embedded work than u should join TI,ST,Cadence, mentor graphics, Flectronics, freescale like companies. Embedded work is done in companies like Nokia, motorola, samsung, conexant etc..
