And finally, even though the passing score is not release, I am taking it to be around 50-60% generally. Please correct me if I am wrong here. Is there any chance for it to be more than 70% ?

the total score matters....but if u are border line case then the ethic section matters.....u cant skip low weightage section are fruit that is they are very easy so dont loose out on then ...Minimumm passing score is a number which is ROUGHLY 70% of the top 1% score of all candidates...if u get absolute 70% then u can be sure of passing....

Debrief:--

I started preparing for Level 2 in april...The key to passing level 2 is doing well on the asset evaluation part i.e equity, fixed income,derivatives....if u nail these sections then u will get through easily.....
This year FSA was very easy so it didnt matter much....but FSA at level 2 is quite painful esp pension(read as tension) accounting, merger & acquisitions..
Another thing is not to avoid any LOS in economics not even the general knowledge ones...there were a few questions this year...

Refer Schweser notes wisely...they are sufficient .....do take the exams in book6 .....book7 is unnecesarily tough and actual exam was way easier

Under standing the material is extremely critical...do not cram any stuff...the actual exam twists even simple stuff so u end up being confused during the exam...make ur own notes...this helps in revising the stuff....

there are tonnes of stuff freely available on the net ...for a start search esnips.com for CFA and u will get most of them...

please do let me know if u have any questions

BTW apart from rajatb who else cleared L2?

I have not been following the CFA brouhaha though I know that december level 1 exam registration has been suspended. Request you guys to plz answer the following queries.

1. When will we know if level 1- june 2008 can be given by Indian candidates?
2. Is it sure that december level 1 exam is cancelled or are those court cases etc happening for conducting the exam in december (as against for next year!) ?

2007 Level1 dec exam is not cancelled yet. CFA Institute would post updates regarding this status at CFA Institute in India so there is no set deadline, although there is a hearing on this case in september.

There is no second time.

1.The Delhi HC had given an indication that it would give a final ruling on the matter of AICTE v/s CFA on Sep6.
2.The final status of the exam will be clear only after the ruling is given.

Re: Need some Opinions on CFA. - 23-08-2007, 10:14 AM

Hi,
Iam Arijit Kundu pursuing CFA,earlier called as MS(Fin),from Pune, currently iam in the Gamma group....will be appearing its exams around 1st week of Oct......simultaneously iam also doing my M.com Part II(Regular) from Symbiosis Society's Coll, Pune.
I feel Pursuing a moderately tough course like CFA and completing it successfully....is quite a ask....for a guy like me who is all alone doing it.....i would like to know persons who are also pursuing the same course...no matter if they are at the differnt levels of the course,......i feel this would benefit us both ways as we can share our common problems, develop strategies, recommend study materials to each other....thus making an effort to accomplish our goals without any hiccups.....i would particularly be more interested in persons who are from Pune itself....as it will make communication travel clear n easy.
Waiting for replies,
Arijit.
