First you should do 2 things ->
Don't expect that you will just get all information in one post.

1. Read this thread from beginning. It's important.

2. And, go through CFA Institute Home . Official website of CFAI. After this if you have any query, shoot it.

1. if i apply for June '09 and don't clear, can i use the same books of Dec '09 paper?

2.what about June '10?? will i need new books/material provided by CFA institute?

3. does the syllabus change year to year/ paper to paper?

I have just stared my preperations from the schweser notes (2009)...


1. just wanted to know are we suppose to study session by session in order, or u can pick up any SS?

2.are the later SS linked with early SS?

or

3. should one study a complete book at a time?

if so...

4. should one read the books in sequence also or any other will do?

Hi Puys,

I am planning to take the CFA L1 exam in Dec 2009. I am a s/w engineer from bangalore having a slight knowledge of finance because of the domain and company I work with. I am interested in pursuing a career in finance because of my interest in it. Could you guys who already have cleared Level1 exam tell me whether there is any possibility of getting a job in a finance company after clearing CFA L1 exam.

Which material among Stalla, Schwieser and that provided by CFA itself is best to prepare for the exam?

I had a question about one institute Ace... which gives coaching kind of stuff at Delhi and various other places....I was kind of wondering how is this institute as compared to other material providers like Stalla and schweiser....
