Please explain this in more detail. How is taxpayer's money and expletives for a 2 day meet related?

I agree that what is being shown in the video is not something to be proud of, but it beats me why would someone who has spent even 7 days in college hostel (be it engineering, MBA or anything else) would ever be surprised at seeing this.

Precisely! Totally beats me! What is the sense in sensationalising something that happens in pretty much every college! Haven't we all gone through it before? There must be hundreds od videos on the internet.. why are XL-IIMC being single out? Aren't B-schoolers allowed to have their bit of fun? and besides, all this stays within the Campus, unless it is leaked out through a video of this sort. Shouldn't something that happened on Campus, stay on Campus?

I for one am really not surprised, and would say that anyone who is would be a hippocrite. We all abuse and swear in public at times, but if an XLer or IIMite does it, we feel a prick somewhere? How fair is that?

not IIMite dude. IIMCian. Every IIM does not do this
dont mix this with IIM name tag.
Such events need to be kept a secret. aint such a difficult thing to understand.

With a pile of 300 résumés on his desk and a need to pick someone quickly, my boss told me to make calls on the bottom 50 and toss the rest.
"Throw away 250 résumés?" I asked, shocked.
"What if the best candidates are in there?"
"You have a point," he said.
" But then again, I don't need people with bad luck here ."

To all the other people who are agonized after looking at the video..

Please, your opinions are not required.
If it was someone from XLRI or IIM-C posting then i would have considered arguing with them.
But , people who have no idea what happens inside have no rights to pass their judgements. Keep them to yourself

I do not ask each and everyone of you whom you abuse and why you do that ; and grow up, if it was guys shouting, you people would have shut up .
Why discriminate on the basis of gender ?

My one request : Shut up
One Suggestion : Mind your own business !

Holy!!!

When did PG have to resort to 'sensational' reporting to increase its number of hits?

Don't we have enough hits already?

Are we okay with our country's taxpayer-funded educational institutions being utilized this way?

Eh?? Let me get the logic straight

if (tax payer -> funds institutions)
then (institution -> promote moral policing)

A lot of cock and bull, I might say. Or maybe my logical reasoning is bad. Does someone care enough to educate me

Jokes apart, a two day meet where the regular MBA lets his or her hair down and have fultoo masti doesn't mean that the country's or the taxpayer's money is going to the dogs. Right?

Well I wouldn't like to get into an argument on this matter as it is a matter of perception and may differ from person to person, what may be right for me may be wrong for you, from what I can make out from the points being raised by my fellow puys is that it is normal and any hostel campus story,Point taken and I agree, but we are not talking about any graduate college here but a PG B-school where some of the best minds of the country go..now its ok to indulge in light banter but what defeats me is the kind of expletives that were used in this vdo and the extent to which it was carried out,now i readily believe that what happens on the campus should remain on the campus and specially this kind of thing but then again doesnt it bother you that its so easy these days to come up with these sort of words, and yeah ofcourse B-schooler are entitled to have all the fun they wanna but somewhere down the line you would also agree that a line should be drawn(now then again its a person perogative whr he/she draws line).

And i would feel as bad if someone from any other bschool indulge in this sort of banter not only the present party to this..and yeah we do swear in public but I for one have never used the kind of xpletives being used in the vdo in my life.

And yes it pricks somewhr when an IIM or an Xlite does this cause they are some of the best minds that we have to offer, and if we xpect them to behave in a more parliamentary way,is it a too far fetch a demand..?

well this is my point of opinion regarding this episode and I am sure most of you dont agree with it but as far as I am concerned this is best a tradition which both these gr8 Instis can do without.

Thanks,

Well my two cents...

I represent the youth and I don't see anything which is too whacky or insane or world shattering substance here. Chill guys.. I swear, u swear, the gals can swear too, n yes the gals in IIMs too can Do the IIMs have any clause in their memorandum of association that guys would have their name and fame going for a toss on a public forum if they do so?

Y do we have to sensationalise this issue? Get a life guys. Most of us feel pretty chilled out about this.

Y does PG have to do this? When I am banned to post something which is irelevant, when i'm banned from this forum unless I censor this word called F**K or a** or son of a *****, then y should I go about hearing something which is so nasty and filthy? I do not understand this concept

Kindly justify.

Don't mind the groans at all. In fact it would be a proof that u at least bother to read the concerns of a loyal user of PG who has been so proud so far...

Thanks,
The gist of the thread is

People in IIMs and XLRI do not mind such things. Instead they enjoy it.
The junta outside believes that it is too heinous an act for us to indulge in

The solution is simple. We carry our IIM tag with decency and respect outside the campus. We make sure we do not drag the name of our college down with ourselves. This can be justified by looking at the number of people who actually fight ---- Zero.
Those who abuse each other out of reasons apart from fun are --- Nil (few exceptions can be made here)

So i feel, the junta can accept that we deserve our privacy. When this video was posted outside the campus, nobody would have imagined that it would be the article in PG !!! If they would have known, they would have refrained from doing so.
