Beta testers required for PG Instant Messaging Service

Hello Junta,

We are now in the process of beta testing our Instant Messaging service

and are looking for beta testers who can help us troubleshoot this baby.

What we're looking for:

1) Technically sound junta who've installed/reinstalled/smacked/hacked/broken their computers and softwares.
2) People who have access to a wide range of Operating Systems
3) The ability to put down into words- the exact issue
4) The ability to screenshot images and post it
5) People with free time

. Since this is a major project for all of us, we are looking at people who have loadsa time to dig out all those bugs
6) Usability - We're looking to make the software easy to use and therefore will need you guys to comment on usability based on your experiences with other softwares

How we select beta testers?
Simple. Take the above six questions and answer them in brief and let us know if you fit the bill. We will then select the beta testers and allow them access to our new IM and testing arena

The features of the IM will be the stuff legends are made of

You mentioned this at the PG Hyd meet didnt think it'd b ready do fast!! Anyway here's abt me

1.)I am technically sound.(After all,when else can i flash my B.Tech degree in Electronics and Communications). Working in a company that deals in VOIP solutions.You can judge moi technical skills by reading through all the tech articles that I have posted.

2.)This is prolly the only place I falter--Access to only 2 systems--
Sys 1-->233Mhz proc Win98SE 96MbRam (enough for IM??)
Sys 2-->AMD643000+ WinXp 512MbRam(more than enough

hey what if you kin answer only one question with a yes. would one out of six do.. i guess my free time and my eagerness(read boredom) woul more than suffice..wouldnt it ??

1> Yep been there done that - though not so much now I've been into comps for the past ten odd years...

2> Hmm not so much but I have a relic of a rig (Win98SE Pentium 133MHz et al) running at home if it runs here it'll run most any other place... Could get you stats on a WinXP machine as well (College hostel)

i would love to be a part time tester as my XAT exams r not that far..but i know i am desperate for this too..

One more reason we're looking at identifying people who understand tech and will work closely with us is because we are looking at a bunch of other future products as well and based on my interactions with the core beta testing team .. you might end up heading entire products .. ( you willing

We're treading into areas very few have, and even fewer have been successful and I will bank a lot on your judgement

All yee who've been selected for beta testing will receive PMs from me with further information. Selection wont happen until sunday

, so do keep letting us know if you are interested in the testing!

The IM is at version 1 and I think we will have a rock solid IM at version 4 .. which would mean 3 more releases after this one. Say V4 will happen around 5/6 months from now

But the V1 of the IM might be ready for release in Jan 06 provided we get it right
