piyambhi case is not uncommon, as finances are still kept by CA's in organization.

To All MBA Aspirants thinking of a career in FINANCIAL SERVICES,

A BIG QUESTION TO YOU ALL

With the Wall Street I-Banks becoming history now, what we guys having a mamagement degree in Finance will expect our career in Future ?

Please pour in your thoughts about what you all think a career as a Finance Professional ?

My views are: I-Banking is under risk. A silver-lining in Asset Mgmt, Wealth Mgmt as they still have career prospects & demand on the Market.

Hello,
I think as everyone in this thread is studying somewhere or other I thought this will be the best place for me to resolve one question that is haunting my mind for quiet a few days now.
Sir/Mam, what is the reputation of International Business as an specializtion ?
Actually I have been offered PGDM (IB) at BIMM (more specifically BIIB). I am a bit confuse about IB. I am convienced about the college (thats the best I could get) but the specialization offered has popped in doubts in my mind.
Seniors, please pour in your feedbacks about IB as an specialization..

Re: Discussion thread on job profiles after MBA - 14-05-2009, 05:41 PM

senior Puys,

i just found this useful thread here, so i'm asking my query. I'm in IT (telecom domain) since past 3 years. This year i plan to do an MBA. Can you please throw some light on:
> which specialization will be better to support growth in IT (i'm not fed up with IT, mayb i'm fine wit it)
> after MBA if i feel i want to switch sector, like if i develop interest in any stream during MBA, how good is scene for a 3yr IT guy?

Anticipating response.

Thanks,
Abhishek

It would surely help you if you continued with your earlier domain itself, but if you want to change, it wont be a problem. Your previous experience will get weightage according to its relevance for the new profile u apply for

I guess you ll be able to figure that out during the first year which is common for all....like i started with finance mentality and ended up taking marketing and now m pretty happy with it

Hi

I am sorry for a pathetically late reply
Like very well pointed put in the post above, the first year gives a good insight about what you wish to do in the second year.
But there are times when we cannot seem to decide...then i feel people close to you like friends at the B School or other Schools or people who have finished their MBA or even faculty can help you to decide about the specialization.

Cheers
Pallavi

P.S. Have fun at the B School, itna tension mat lo
P.S.S You will be able to figure out what you are good at.
