Making a career change with MBA -- Is it viable or not??? - 09-08-2009, 11:41 PM

Hi Friendz.
I wanted to know if anyone could help me with an MBA inoperations management.

I am currently pursuing CA and my articleship is on. I am actually kind of interested in Operations management. So i just wanted to know whether it is worthwhile for me todo the same as i am from a commerce background. Coz i herard that it is better for people from the Science Background.

And i would also like to know some good colleges in India who provide an MBA in operations.

Thanks.

Dheeraj.

Re: Making a career change with MBA -- Is it viable or not??? - 15-08-2009, 09:28 PM

Can any 1 help me out wid this. I had given CET this yr and have got Rizvi. But i want to secure admsn in top 5 colleges. However the problem is that I am 29 yrs old. If i wait for another yr i will be 30yrs. By the time I pass out I will be 32yrs.I wanted to know How much impact does ones age has at the time of placements. I do have 3 yrs work ex but i dont think that wud count 4 much as I was working in a call centre. So that makes me a fresher. So I think a company wud prefer a 24yr old fresher rather than a 32yr old fresher. Sir, can u please help me out. I am very confused whether to take admsn or wait for a yr.

Re: Making a career change with MBA -- Is it viable or not??? - 19-08-2009, 05:13 PM

hi ,

I am having 1 year of experience as a relationship manager in a reputed bank. And I am doing execitive MBA from Accord School of Business,Saltlake,Kolkata in marketing and finance. The classes are conducted in the evening or on weekends. The most importent thing is that they provide an online chatting session with the respective faculties.......which helps me out a lot when i cannot attend classes.Apart from this they are also proving a placement assistance after the completion of course.

This mba is a fulltime course certified by Punjab Technical University. The same course can be done in a distance mode as well. One year of working experience is the criteria required for this mba executive course....

Being a venture of Accord Media group they have huge corporate connections which facilitates our industrial exposure, training and placements.I have got a B-School of my choice. I hope that you also get one of your choice..........................................

Hope this info will help you..........

@vads - Why do you not consider an executive MBA program if you have some experience
