@ GT_Nagpur....
It would be naive to look at this purely from a 'career boom' perspective...that would be very short term.

What i would suggest is to go ahead with your MBA programme, have a feel of the subjects and the course in general...talk to alums and fellow batchmates (for that matter anyone you can talk to) and once you have settled in the course...take stock of your strengths +interest in subjects + placement scenario in your institute to take a call

I am assuming you would have to choose your electives in the 2nd year of your MBA, so why get jittery over it right now?

Secondly, there is a slight distinction between a System Analyst and working in the IT industry (as a marketing/HR/Ops/Fin) Professional.

Its not an obvious distinction but to give you an example you can be working on business development for an IT firm without taking up a full blooded system specialization.

When I let go of what I am, I become what I might be.

Hi Manoj, you can take both system + finance. If you have interest in telecom sector, there is and institute named SITM (pune) with provide MBA in systems + finance.
Visit Website: SITM : Symbiosis Institute of Telecom Management, PUNE

Also SCIT provides MBA in IT Business Management.
See site: www.scit.edu

Finance ppl can also work in IT as Business Analysts but its always good to work in Financial industry first and get a good exposure before taking up a role of BA in IT.

yes after 16 months of work exp in IT, and you want to come back to IT, no one can stop you, even if you do a MBA in HR (hmm kidding). But yeah, there is no pre-requisite for sitting for a IT company in my opinion. Every one is elgible, because the roles are generalistic. However, if you want to join as Business Analyst in BFSI domain, then it adds advantage if you have studied, few banking, insurance or related subjects. If you want to join the ERP space, you can take up modules based on your comfort areas ( usually coincides with your specialization). ERP has places for all specializations.. Finance, HR, Marketing, Operations. So you can take shelter here. Other prospects are Pre-Sales, IT Marketing, etc etc.

Hope it helps.

Siva Ram
