Dude, the best guides will be your college faculty and your seniors (Second year guys). So do consult them.

hi all..
well..
i wonder
well a person who is new to PG and dont know the rules..
and he realy need help..
instead of helping him and giving him the right direction
we are writting the same old stuff..(lock this thread or so..)
well if some old PG do that then its our duty to do that..
dut we shpould guide this new PG..
this would be a good experience for him
that he will share with other non-PG
so plz all PG its a request that if a GENUINE help seeker.. (not considering SPAMMERS)do some mistake
so we should educate him.. about this site.. instead of making comments..
plz its a request
if someone feel offensive
then APOLOGY GUYS

Hi Speak with your seniors, know about each specialization, its benefits, job opportunities, ur B-Schools past experiences etc. Take tips from Faculty too. If you a commerce grad, take Finance. In HR job are few, but Job will be easy going and cool. If you need more action take up marketing (Easy to complete but hard to work initially, later on its more cool than HR or Finance or IT) Decide well and do ur MBA it will change ur life forever. What ever be the specialization, give ur 100%. You will succeed. | | | | | | | |

guys im 4 months into my course and the specialisation bug has bit me big time.....
the past 5 yrs(have 3 yrs work ex in sales) i was so sure to takeup marketing and have been very passionate abt it always(specially marketing communications/retail/brand managment/strategic marketing) etc...
but the institute im in adds nil value to my marketing skills-the profs r very plain avrage(thy dnt challenge my thought process at all).im nt learning the theories neither the practicals...
finance profs on the other hand r amazing and i also have been topping my class both in marketing and finance....
now the dilema is im thinking of WHY NOT FINANACE??? since i dont feel ill earn anything in marketing here and thus will b inefficient in workplace.secondly i now feel finance guys have it all(CA/CFA etc))....while working thy can do these courses and b eligible for top notch MNC while ill be slugging it out in a sucking sales job(thts the only kinda marketing profiles this campus gets in terms of placements)....id nt b doing the dream marketing jobs i always thought id do.....like brand managmnt n stuff.i dont think we have any similar revered certifications in marketing...do we?
so can any1 of the seniors here guide me-i know finance would be a choice-nt a passion-id excel at it if i take it up bt thn my heart would always b with marketing-it simply runs in my blood.but i have had seen our alumunis and thy havent really moved into marketing from the sales jobs even after 3-5 yrs.....and i really dont wanna b in sales(even as sales head) for my life.
what would b the career path for a marketing guy who has to start at entry level sales(arnd 5L ctc)....how and by whn can he move into marketing.
also thr r no fmcg companies coming in to our campus-and thts whr all the real marketing action i thought lies......
so im thinking of doing SIP in finance and thn maybe takeup dual specialisation(Mktng+fin) and thn do CFA etc while working......
