To answer ur question u have to simply send ur bank statement which says u have arnd 10 lakh in your accourt. To sum up to the amount you can also add ur dad's statement with a letter signed by ur dad that he is ready to sponsor ur MBA from NTU !
this was the process before 2 yrs, i don't know what's its like now !

BTW, i am surprised to see that there is no action in none of the threads about NTU MBA applications ......
NTU has ranked higher than NUS in ET ranking but still i see no applicants .. Am i missing the right thread ???

Hey Dude,

Thanks for the help. However there is still a small doubt in my mind.. So what they are trying to say is I send them a bank statement or a bank loan proof AT THE TIME OF APPLYING..??? Thats ridiculous...

I mean most students arrange for loan after getting admit.. And i dont have 10 lac in my bank account (oh how i wish).. and nor does my dad- Why would he keep 10 lac rupees lying in his account earning him like 8% interest, when it can be put to better use (like I can spend it)..!!

And to answer your question: I am quite surprised too at the action (or rather inaction) on this thread.. Guess Nanyang still has a lot of catching up to do with other business schools.. However, a change in ranking in ET for one year doesnt make that big a dent.. It's more about the perception students have about the school over a period of time.. I guess this is where NUS wins hands down.. It has big-better reputation, undoubtedly..

If you can't convince yourself, then you can convince no one..

Well, you can find more info abt the bank statement thing from past threads abt nanyang
sorry that i couldn't give u complete info !!

Abt NTU's low popularity the blame goes to their website. It does not have the info we need like placement details etc, student composition, acceptance procedure etc
Whatever info is there is also scattered. The intake is simply not mentioned. Anyone who will visit the website will get frustated.
From past 2 days i am trying to make a choice between NUS and NTU and i still can't make out

Actually I just got off with the director of the MBA programme at NTU, a british guy named Ian. It was very straightforward. Like why do you want an MBA and why now?
And after that he straightforward told me I would be admitted but that most of the Scholarships would actually go to people with higher GMAT score than mine (700+) and that the decision about the schol are made at the university level and not decided by the B-school.

He was nice, and he told me to let him know whether or not I'll be joining the programme .. cos I've applied to other places as well. So it's strange I am admitted but its doesn't feel like one ...

The whole thing lasted 20 mins. max!! And i was cut off by my poor phone connections for 5 mins!

Regarding the declaration of finance. The ad com told me that it doens't matter they won't really need it. That is needed only for the visa to sing.

Hi.

Congrats for getting shortlisted for the interview. Could you post your profile? Further, let us know how long did the committee take to process your application. I am sure the information will help the other aspirants.

Sunil.

Sunil.
M/29/Cambodia
GMAT 680
WE: 5 years in july 2008 in non-profit
Undergrad: really bad GPA in Computer Eng from school in Canada

I've submitted the application on Oct. 14th.

Sent supporting doc and everything to Ad com on on November 12th.

Got an email from AdCom saying that they received all docs on Nov. 17th.

Got an email from AdCom requesting my passport scan on Nov 25th.

Email them the scan on my passport on Dec. 1st.

Got a call from Ian McGovern this morning about interviewing, told him to call back later today. Dec 20th
Got a call back from Ian, did the interview and he told me I am admitted to NTU but it's up to me whether or not I accept the offer and I should let him know by January.
the interview was very laid back very informal didn't feel like an interview. It last 20 minutes max.

Voila!! That's about it

Good luck to all applicants at NTU!

If you have Q's don't hesitate!!!

Thanks for the quick response.

I had submitted my application a week back and have mailed the documents yesterday. Guess I will have to wait atleast a month before I get a response from NBS.

Well, since you are one of the lucky ones to have received an offer, I request you to evaluate my chances. Here's my profile:

GMAT: 710
Work Ex.: 2 Years in an IT company in India.
Extra Curriculars: Good
Undergraduation: B.E in Computer Science with 73%

I have quit my job to dedicate my effort in pursuing a management course. Not sure how the selection committee will view the same. I have recently started working for an NGO. However, I have not mentioned the same in my application.

Let me know what you think of my profile.

Sunil.

Hey Sunil,

I am not a specialist in the Indian education system (what is 73% roughly converted to A and Bs?).

But this what I've been told during the MBA tour. NTU is looking for a diverse crowd to fill its programme.

They made it clear that they were not like NUS who were looking to stack exclusively on the best and the brightest students (usually from India and China). That's explain the lower GMAT average at NTU.

You probably know this but your profile is very common (Indian IT background), so all will play on how you will differentiate yourself compared with other applicants from the same background!!

I don't think i can give you good advice bc I knew even before applying I would get an admit as the assistant director of admission told me there no one from my country at NTU. And as long as I submit a decent application I would get in which was confirmed yesterday by the director of admission.
