is their ne sectional cutoff?? do they consider essay??

The cutoff for LIBA last year was 91.5%.. U can bet that this time around it goings to get a bit higher..........

There are no sectional cutoffs... There is no weightage given for the essay in the selection process but yes the interview panel will always take a look at it...

There is no preference as such for pepole with work ex... however close to 40 pepole in our batch of 130 have some kind of work ex...

The placement scene in LIIBA has been rockin..With the average salary around 6.1 lacks..

I wud be giving XAT ,2008

Gave XAT 2007, 2006

XAT2006, 95 %TILE , Had a decent interview. Had a gud G.D.but didnt get selected

XAT 2007, 78 %TILE, SO CUD NOT CLEAR THE CUT OFF

My query is wat they autually expect from a candidate in interview?

Hi

At LIBA, the interview process is not very much different from most B-school interviews... The interview panel will mostly grill you on ur undergraduate subject matter,work ex related questions and some general knowledge stufff....

Basically the interviewer is testing your communication skills, ur ability to think clearly under pressure situations and ur general awarness of the happenings around the world.....

Something thats very specific and special about LIBA interview process is that they pay very high importance to ethics and values in life...So be prepared to tackle any ethics related questions....

What was the final cutoff of XAT @ which students under open category converted the admission?
I tried for LIBA 2 yrs back. I got 91.1 percentile then. Had a very good GD/PI. But I wasn't selected. Didn't apply for it last yr as I am not sure whether LIBA is offering Logistics & supply chain mgmt. My analysis shows that the percentile cutoff is raising every year to a greater extent.

You r right.... The percentile cutoff is raising every year due to the increasing poularity of LIBA and consquently the large no of pepole applying for LIBA every year.....

Well this year the cutoff for the open category was 91.5...... LIBA does not offer a specialisation in Logistics and supply chain management but there is a elective in the second year which one can opt for.....

Hi Praneeth,

good to know that u r doing ur MBA at IIT kanpur and the info that Roy has given is correct and that LIBA does not offer any logistics and supply chain management specific course..........but yes in the second year our seniors have electives on the topics......and with regard to ur first question LIBA is really in an advanced mode, and its popularity is also rocketing day by day...if u have a look at the country wide ratings released u will know that LIBA is making progress day in and day out....so logically no. of applications are increasing each year and the selection criteria is being tightened each year.................I hope that answers ur query .....any other info please feel free to interact...

hi sweetoo!!

Well the interviewer checks for the ethics and the nature of the candidate through the full interview process... U will be very lucky if the interviewer ask u direct questions like "If u are faced with a difficult situation in life where u have to compromise on ur ethics what will u do?" or "On a scale of 1 to 10 rate how important values and ethics are to you as an individual in life" ...............
Sometimes the interview panel can ask you very general questions like "Give ur opinion on some important national or international event that has occured(For eg give your views on acquisition of farmers land at Singur for the Tata Motors's project)
