Hi All ,

I have been a silent spectator of Pagalguy for the last 2 yrs ... Thought of paying back to the pagalguy community for all the information I had received during my MBA Pursuit .

My profile :
GMAT : 690
Work Ex : 2 Yrs ( IT Industry )
Admit in NUS ., AGSM . Going to NUS

HAd applied to AGSM ,MBS , ISB & NUS .

Any QUERIES Regarding NUS/ INTERNATIONAN B SCHOOL/GMATprep are welcomed .

Buddy I would also like to apply for all the schools you got admit into... but I am not sure how good are they for I'banking & ofcourse placements,...

The BLOG is really informative.....Could see eye to eye with you.....
Coz am going thru the same pains as u did....am yet to write the GMAT...and am planning to apply to the same set of schools that u did...

I had one query though...

Did u manage to get any schols/aid for AGSM?

If not, how do u plan to finance your mba...

You insights would be really helpful to finalise my list of schools as I have a similar profile as yours.

Hi Thatsmereally ,

Ya had got scholardhip of 7000 Aussie $ for Jan 06 . Had deffered the admission and have got a scholarship of 10,000 Aus $ ... That approximates to 20 % of the Tuition fee.

If u worried about financing , I had the similar concerns in the begining
U cvan get a loan upto 13.5 Lakhs for foreign education although I dont find the terms
offered by the Indian banks so student friendly .

As mentioned in my blog all the colleges that I applied are within 15 -18 Lakhs range in terms of tuition fee . U can take care of ur living expenses mopr or less by working part time . Of course , no American University was there in my list !!!

Approx tution fees :
National University of Singapore : 29500 Sing $ ~= 9 lakhs
Melbourne Business School : somewhat around 18 Lakhs
AGSM , Sydney : 53,000 Aussie $ ( I Aussie $ ~= 33 Rs )
Nanyang is also somewhat below 10 Lakhs

Regarding how good is NUS in terms of BAnking ... To be honest , I am not sure
Although NUS is supposed to be good for doing a Finance MBA ... Would keep u an update once I reach there ...

Regarding placement, keep one thing in mind .
In International B Schools , u have to search for job on your own. Its not a cake walk like studying in IIMS !!! THis is true even for top American MBA college .

Dont get disheartened though , Career Service Dept helps in whatever capacity it can
I have received both good and bad reviews regarding Placement in NUS .

But have a hunch that things would be alright .

Yes, Finacing is what I am worried about.
About AGSM the Living Expenses itself comes to about 15-17 lakhs according to their website...

Anyway..I got a lil confused about the school you are joining...are you joining AGSM or NUS?

Coz in you blog u say that you are joining NUS ...but in you first post mentioned here u say that u r joining AGSM....

Can you please clarify? Acn you also please let us know the reasons u chose one above the the other....

The reason I am asking these questions is I aqm looking at a consulting profile post MBA...so kind of finalising the schools....

Thanks buddy for notifying the typo .
I meant to say I am going to NUS

Well choosing NUS over AGSM was primarily bcos of
1) Lower Tuition fee
2) Better work permit laws for work after graduating...
3) Better chances of finding for someone like me with low work ex ( 2 yrs )

industry : IT
Education :Bachelor of Engineering ,
Decent academic background from decent colege ( Not IIT /NIT )
International Exp : 6 mnths
GMAT written : Sep 05 ( take ur GMAT by Sep end for applying for R1 in ISB )
Score :690
applied to NUS ,ISB , AGSM ,& MBS in round 1 .
Preparation for GMAT : on my own although had been to a pvt coaching firm previous yr for CAT
Preparation in broken cycle , main prep started for say 2 mnths before exam date .
Reco taken : 1 from client Manager and 1 from Parent co manager .
Prepared Essays on my own .

Hey please help me out urgently....

I have got an admit to MBS and IIT-Bombay(SJMSOM)....
gave NUS interview yesterday which went off quite well....
I am unable to make my mind as to which one to join...

I have got 3 yrs of workex..1 year in Tata Motors and 2 yrs at Infosys...

I personally would like to got to Australia..heard great reviews abt MBS...but not sure how much of that is true..

Dude please throw some light on this asap..
I need to take loan and apply for visa....
