I think the phone is relatively free TODAY only because there is some prob with the set up today as none of the calls are being taken up and not even replied to the mail sent to admissions@glakes .
The confusion is persisting right from the beginning as there was never a transperency in the process as everything was taken as CIA top secret and nothing was open to the candidates.
Today it's also the same...no information rather "NO RESPONSE".

I think only the HOLD candidates who's candidature has been rejected have been mailed.
None of the WL guys have received mails. I had called up the office yesterday at 2:30 pm in the afternoon and I was told that I wud be informed by mail n call in the evening. But nothing happened
And today I have tried calling up 10 times.....same response.....ie NO RESPONSE
I have mailed them too....but not even a distant reply...lets forget about prompt reply...

And yes...we r really nervous n anxious about the results

Hi Krish and all Glim Aspirants,

Even all the Hold candidates havent received any letter from them...i was on hold till 31st. I also havent received any mail from them till now. I dont understand what was the reason to Waitlist/Hold so many candidates when they themselves didnt know that how they will be going to wrap up the admission process. There were no marks given, no criteria was told to the candidaes as on what basis they are going to shortlist from both these lists. I m sorry to say Mr. Haripi/Vijai that the process has not been completely transparent and thus the confusion is bound to happen. Maverick left SPJ, Mumbai just anticipating for his result but he also didnt hear from them. I think the institute never had the idea as of how many people will be taking up the admission and how many wont. Atleast the other institutes do have an idea as to how many people will be in the waiting list and then plan the process accordingly but in this case everyone was in the hold list/waiting list and noone has been made clear till now about the prospects.

It seems like The Adcom, Great Lakes was itself not sure that all the people will take the admission and thus they went on waitlisting/holding candidates and now when all seats are taken up, they are even not receiving our calls.

Seniors, this is bad on the institutes part.

we completely understand that this is relatively new institute and processes can never be in place right from the day ONE but with due regards i think this has come up as a bad picture..
atleast even if there some transperancy wrt the candidates position and seats left a person cud have better been ale to judge by himself....
I am here to complain but just pointing to the grey areas which i think cud be taken care of in future to prevent such a debacle..

and all aspirants...
its high time that we all realise by ourselves that now theres is nothing left and stop running after smething that not there... and i wud also suggest everyone who still has some oppurtuity somewhere else ...GO 4 IT DUDE..
even I am lookin out to accept the SP Jain Dubai afer few investigations abt placemnts and most imp if am able to get together the huge feee

donr lose heart dude....things will definitely take a bright turn.....may be we are being tested for our patience till last minute.

I have enough kicks this season.

So Great Lakes is very very important for me.

SPJ dubai is damn costly....just wait for a day and the picture will be as clear as in broad daylight.

But all said and done, we as students do raise all issues you guyz have to the admissions commitee and they ahve said that they have mailed all letters.I dont know what else i can say. I am sorry i cannot divulge abt the number of seats filled but chances of WL moving up is relatively less. students might be intimated only if people dont pay up by 5th.

Is there anything else i can do for you people? Please understand that i am also a student and have limitations.

Thanks for empathising wid us

Firstly, they havent mailed all the WL/Hold candidates...there is some confusion.

Secondly, I too think student will be intimidated only on 6th ie after the last date of submission of feees.

Thirdly, Prashanth...at least request the admission office to pick up our calls and respond to our emails....It will ease the atmosphere on this thread a lot.

While I am not a student yet at Great Lakes, what I sense is that there has been an unprecendented rise in the number of applicants to the institute. It has been made clear by the present batch of students and at some places on the institute website that the admission is based on a lot of factors such as academics, essays, recommendations, gd-interview performance, et al.... The glitch with this kind of evaluation is with the time it takes to scan thru all the applications because none of the parameters for evaluation are for elimination but are for consideration. When I apply to an institute, I would definitely want to be on a hold/wait list which means I would still have a chance until the very last moment... This would be a lot better than being told - point balnk - that I am rejected. With the institute gaining focus by the day, I am sure a lot of offers would have been accepted by now and so, the wait will continue until April 5 when the deadline for accepting the offers ends.....

approx 150 odd seats are filled... mebbe 5-8 seats remain... those people will be called from the WL category. this is the info i got...
