my test centre was kolkata , the location in pagalguy is an old one , which i havent updated recently , however your verbal scores are fine
is 37% above 80th percentlile ?, if it is it should be sufficient of course based on the schools you want to apply to .

i would be applying to a mixture of us and european business schools including
insead, cornell, hec, sda bocconi, columbia 'if i cross 750 in my next attempt'

what about you which schools you looking at

I think both the score (700 and 710) are good. And congrats on the score. I take my GMAT in about 10 days and hope to score above 720. Well, atleast thats the aim !! But going by my scores in PR and kaplan (and comparing them to nucliomanic's prep score) i dont think i'l even manage a 700 ! I really hope thats not the case. Though with OG my PP score was ok.

Nuclio - IMHO, i think ur score is good but u'll need to really put in some more work ex on the app if ur applying to schools u mentioned. Atleast to places in the US and INSEAD. I dont know abt the european schools. U might need atleast 4-5 years. Which means another 3 years from now and ur scores are valid for the next 5 years. Unless u can improve by another 50-70 points dont bother taking it again (and spend under 11K). But thats just what i think.

kryptic- What were ur prep score? Which schools u app to? and more imp why those schools?

For me i'm, i have 3.5 work ex in an advertising firm. Am only planning for ISB as of right now and INSEAD as a second preferance. Maybe US schools if i dont get in these 2 schools. The reason being that the action is going to be in the A-Pac region. And i want to stay in the marketing side of things and maybe in the media and entertainment industry (not advertising). Hence , i think, that a schools in this region will be better off, oppurtunity-wise and financially. What do u guys think ?

I don't seem to agree with your justification about studying in A-pac. Just trying to give you constructive criticism, of course. Agreed that the Asian economy, in general, is heading for a big boom in the years to come, but as far as the media and entertainment industry is concerned, boy, there is nowhere more opportunity than in the US. By 'opportunity' here, I do not imply 'jobs' but rather the quality of the jobs and the quantum and quality of advancements that one will be surrounded by. And if you talk about the financial aspect, Europe and the Americas are definitely more paying!

Yes, as far as the ease of getting a job and job security is concerned, India is a better place. So maybe a good thing to do is to apply weights to different aspects like 'quality of education', 'education costs', 'job prospects immediately after MBA' etc. This should give you a good idea of which school in which region is most suited for you.

Here's my profile:

B.Com grad with 3 years experience in the BPO industry.
Acads: school- very good, college - average.

Here are the schools I am aiming for:

Judge, ISB, ESADE & Said >>>>>: Stretch...
NUS, Nanyang, Warwick, Cranfield: Hmmm...
Manchester >>>>>>>>>>>>>> : Safe...

As you might have noticed, I have skipped US schools. Simply put, they are out of my budget. However, there's no doubt that US schools are the best in the business.

congratulations on your score..! well, according to me anything beyond or in 700-800 range is a good score, n is still above the average score required for most of the TOP universities.

My kaplan scores are scaring the hell out of me ..couldnt kiss the sweet 700 till now and the curve is tilting a lot...and the D Day is Nov 22...I need to take GMAT prep still
