All,
I am Balaji, software engineer with 5 years of exp…
Aiming for ISB 2009….and I am yet to take GMAT…..
I need some info about ISB Admission process…I am planning to apply in Cycle 2…
As I am yet to take GMAT, and I need some more time to prepare myself for the exam…So I am planning to take it by Sept/Oct and apply for ISB in Cycle 2…
But I am afraid that my chances will come down if I apply in cycle 2…is it so???
Is it applying in first cycle gives you an added advantage????
Thanks,
Balaji S. | | | | | | | |

There is no fixed GMAT score which can assure you a seat into ISB.
But definitely a score of 730+ would ensure that your interviewers won't doubt your analytical and language skills.
PS: People with scores of 650 also make it to ISB.

Applying in first cycle gives you no extra advantage.
Both rounds have same chances. Over the years the admission committee has a good idea of the quality of applicants in each cycles and hence they give out offers accordingly.
Moreover there is a waitlist which ensures that any mistakes in estimations are taken care of.

[quote=sssiva03;1006253]Hi PGs,
I think this is the right time to start this new and fresh thread for all the PGs who aspire to join ISB 2009 batch.
The apping process will start somewhere around july. In that case, this should be the right time for any aspirant to start preparing for his GMAT.
Let it be anywhere from writing GMAT to Application processes, post you queries here and get it answered.
I hope the current ISB PGs will also help us reach our goal.[/quote
can u say me whether gmat score is enough for ISB or their need U.G. percentage also

Dear XXXXX,
Thank you for requesting for a feedback on your application.
Your profile was fairly good. However, you failed to distinguish significantly from the highly competitive applicant pool.
We encourage you to re-apply for PGP 2009-10. However, concentrate more on your essays and stress more to differentiate yourselves from other applicants.
-------------------------
Hope this helps. | River Card, if you dont mind, can you mention when did you request for feedback and when did you receive it ? The reason behind my question is, I had applied for 08-09 too, got dinged and I had requested for feedback on my profile quite some time back... wanted to see how long I should wait till I send another request or reminder. | | | | | | | |
