Anyone for NUS Singapore?

Hi .. I have 1 year of work experience in the IT industry and plan to apply next year to NUS. I will have 1.5 years of work experience when I apply and 2 years by the time I actually join... Do I stand a chance of getting into NUS if I get a GMAT score of 720+?
My profile is as follows:
Cl 10: 87.83%
Cl 12: 81.20%
B.E (CSE): 86.10% Manipal University
Extra Curriculars good.

Hi Gaurav,

Your query being too generic, its very difficult for anyone to judge right now.

Moreover, its very difficult for a fellow student to give his view because the selection procedure is quite subjective involving lot of factors which cannot be quantified.

Although i myself have three years of work ex i consider myself lucky to have got through NUS, because the competition is tough and lot of indians apply. NUS keeps a CAP of how many indians it will take- its around 40-50)

Frankly speaking its difficult to make it with 2 years of work ex if one has an average profile (compared to indian standards). A score of 700-710 is also average in the indian scenario for competive schools.

And beyond 730, the GMAT score doesn't make much difference.

Then its the profile, essays and the quality of ur recos.(The quality of recos means- how detailed the reco has been written- it shows a lot about how you manage ur relationships with seniors- a sloppy reco shows that you are not serious about ur career and about ur seniors, same goes with ur essays.)

The one positve that I can draw from this situation is that we are not out of it yet...theres still some hope lets hope for the best...some1 got to break the ice at NUS!!!

I had mailed Richard enquiring about the status of my application and this was his reply

"As we are reviewing over 5000 applications, we do seek for your patience and understanding on this matter. Kindly be informed that we are reviewing each application thoroughly, and we shall definitely get back to you once we have firmed up the decision as to the next step of your application. I do apologize for any inconvenience caused. We are looking at releasing all the results by late June."

I guess most of us are getting this kind of replies only. The wait n watch game will continue...
