And from this post, you can make out where he rates his own institute.

So, my advice would be to look before you leap

I had talked to a couple of seniors when I had gone there for my GDPI, and all of them were smiling when i asked whether the average was 7.5pa.
It's somewhere around 5.5, as validated by a senior.

Also take a look at our own B-School Rankings: PaGaLGuY.com B-school Rankings 2008 - National Rankings

Friend, I don't have any strong feeling towards any institute. I was just providing you the information I have. satisfied_mind has already provided you the information. But I must mention that you don't often find the seniors like the ones in LBSIM who has completely placed the real picture before your actual joining. These things happen almost in all institutes. Decide your options judicially to arrive at some final decision is all whatI can say!

wooh...thx fr the info dude.....but i guess this inflation happens in all colleges. If the figures inflation can be taken as a constant(and thus be cancelled out)....we pretty much arrive at the same picture vis-a-vis bschools...

@RahuL: I am a bit apprehensive of life@UBS coz I have been living in chandigarh and know the infra of UBS, also taking into account that chd has very less places to hangout n stuff...so wat do u guys do after classes?....i mean apart frm studies ofcourse...

Going offtopic....but yeah...these things happen at all instis....but what matter most is brand preception among recruiters...and this is where LBSIM lags and UBS fares well...

Hey can you please tell me about the basic infrastructural facilities other than PU campus and the Canteen

I mean how are the hostels? Do we get internet connectivity? and what are the charges to put up at hostels....and what extra-curriculars do students take part in?

Re: UBS 2008-2010 Admission Queries - 17-04-2008, 10:57 PM

well few things i wud like to share about placements,,,,
tokin of lbsim- u r very rite about figure being inflated as mentioned by the lbsim senior,,,,
toking of kjsomaiya---i had chat wid ppl over there,,they told me tht avg package for the whole batch of 240 is 6.7 and median around 6 while for the top 120 students is 7.7.
toking of fore ...avg. package of freshers is 8
and laterals is 9.so the net avg, around 8.5 or so.
but this includes 3 intrnationl offers too......the maximum being 26 lakhs as mentioned on the site, and median of around 6.5.
if v deduct these 3 intl offers thn also avg is above 7.5 for sure.
and ubs already mentioned the avg of 6,5 or so.....
nirma of around 7 to 7.5

so toking of choosing college based on placemnts i will say - fore =nirma while ubs and kjsomaiya have slight diffrnce
but their r factrs like ROI, infra , etc which actually make them same .
regards sarab

One of the 2008 batch pass-outs from LBSIM has already mentioned on one of the LBSIM admissions thread that there were hardly 6-7 candidates from a batch of 120 who have got a CTC of over 7.5 LPA. So, there is very little use of how this average of 7.58 has been arrived at when only 5% of your batch has got more than the average package! FORE has already included international figures in their average and has not mentioned the domestic average and therefore there is no use of talking about its inflated figure of 8 lacs per annum.
If you want to get the real picture of placements, talk with as many students of the B-School as you can. They will give you clear picture.

The post was in line with topic only dear. Yeah it's true that being an old B-School and being in campus to Panjab University adds a lot of value to UBS.
Anyways, I have already reported inflated figures of placement report of FORE on Pagalguy to PG administrators and they are in the process of confirming the same. The domestic figures will be put up once available! This will make the aspirants take a better decision who are new to this world of MBA!!!

u will go for it or not ?????

and regarding ROI... thats been a unique USP of UBS......

the fees shudnt go more than 1-2 L ........

but lets see...

we also hope our juniors get much better ROI....

Ya I know that summers are a good way to get corporate exposure. But you say that many people in colleges below A+ grade try to find better opportunities for summers. But UBS does come under A grade atleast, doesn't it?? That was my basic question, why after being in a good, reputed college, do the students have to search on their own??

Because I know a bit about good/bad colleges, that's why I'm terming UBS as good. Do you disagree??
