There is an upper limit of 15 yrs of work ex for entry into the programme AFAIK.
GMAT is just one of several factors for the admission selection. Your overall profile matters!
What about older applicants with 15 + years experience? How many older applicants are there in your class? What challenges do you think they face in the class? How much of a role did GMAT play for these candidates? How do they perform in class?
Would appreciate if a few queries can be addressed which will assist me in identifying my next steps from an MBA Perspective
Total Work Ex as of March 2011 - 92 months ( inclusive of 19 months in an entreprenuerial venture)
Education - BE and MBA ( 2004 passout) ( 2 yr Regular from MDI)
Sectors worked in - IT ( Oracle and CEAI) , Exports ( Entreprenuership Venture) , Corporate Trainings ( Current Role)
In all sectors have mainly been handling the BD and Sales Role at various managerial positions
I am thinking of applying for the 2012-13 batch of IIMB EPGP.
Objective for applying: To have a platform to assist in switching sectors from BD and Sales to more of Consulting ( my reading of myself of the sector which would probably suit my career) ( As in India, offers are there from similar sectors and industries for Sales and BD only)
1) Does the current batch/prior batch have prior MBA students on rolls
2) Does having a prior MBA from an good institute reduce the chances of admission at IIMB 1 yr course
3) What would be the average range of the GMAT Scores of successful Participants
4) From where can I get a list of companies that are a part of recruitment for 2010-11.
Would appreciate if I can get a revert on the same.
Thanks in advance.

No such thing sam1254, all good schools look for character and presentation mostly.
Also, u should be well placed to showcase your current experience in a positive way.. Surely you have had management exposure (handling clients is mgmt) even if you may not be a manager by your office.
The learning, starts not by joining an institute but from the application process itself, where you dvelve deep into your own strengths and weaknesses. Suggest you go thru a few pg threads for good schools, you will pick up many things.
Job profile for what you have asked - perhaps something on BA side, Senior BA etc. If you are doing MBA, you should also look at other platforms, outside of IT. This will be your only chance at that, and there is a lot lot more out there besides IT. Just a thought though!!!
thanks to present IIM students who are investing their time to help applicants. I appreciate the effort.
I have few questions regarding career options for an IT guy. I have 8+ years of exp in IT... engineering graduate (BE in electronics). Post MBA iam planning to handle job which involves bridging business goals and IT goals. analyse the gap between IT and business etc. Please help me with identifying which job profile suites this.
Also does IIMB accepts only candidates having people management skills? my current profile is more on process management in IT which requires handling internal clients who are VPs, department heads, managers and team leads. will that make a good profile? thanks in advance.
