Please help with Parallelism.

1.These things include melting of the polar ice caps and a rise in sea level.

Are **melting of the polar ice caps and a rise in sea level "" parallel.in OA it says Melting of PIC (Gerund... equivalent to noun) || the rise in sea level :- NOUN.i cud not understand .

rise in sea level/rising sea level Both are correct,in given ques melting of ,rise in are parallel ,they follow noun+preposition..but Our answers will depend on given options ,if rising sea level is also included in some option ,then context may change ,so can answer..

(of the polar ice caps )is a modifying phrase so (melting) is acting as a noun,(in sea level) is a modifying phrase so (rise) is a noun.../both are parellel
