NO 36:

Two motorcyclists, Ajay and Vijay, start simultaneously from a point S on an oval track and drive around the track in the same direction, with speeds of 29 km/hr and 19 km/hr resp. Every time Ajay overtakes Vijay (anywhere on the track), both of them decrease their respective speeds by 1 km/hr. If the length of the track is 1 km, how many times do they meet at the starting point before Vijay comes to rest?

972282 Sayswhat is unitary method ???:nono:

unitary method is nothing but the method of carrying out a calculation to find the value of one unit to find the other one.

you can solve the above question by this method too:

formula:: {error/(true value - error value)} * 100

putting this in qs

50/(1000-50)*100 = required answer:)

See,

CP is for 1000 gms , so Sp also we have to calculate for 1000 gms

We know, SP of 950gms =x

therefore, unitary method, SP of 1000 gms = x*1000/950...

Now you can calculate the profit and tereby the profit%:)...

Is the answer correct?

Any problem, get back to me! :)

what is unitary method ???:nono:

hey regarding problem 31. I am not very sure. Just let me know if my ans is correct or not. This is the approach which I followed.

Profit of A first time = Rs. 1500.

SP of A =11500

B sells at 15% loss. CP of B=11500

SP of B = 11500 * .85 = 9775.

CP of A =9775.

Therefore profit made by A in the second transaction = (10000 -9775) = 225

Total profit = 1500+225 =1725

profit % = (1725/10000)*100 =17.25%

correct, thanks

ANSHER SHOULD BE 18.75%

sol;

let the list price be x.

so the retailer's cost price is 0.8x

and he sold at 0.95x

so % profit = {0.15x/0.80x}*100

=18.75%

could you plz help me with this ???

"SP 0f 1000 gms = x * 1000/950profit = 50 *x /950% profit = 5 5/19%

972282 SaysNo answer is 'C'...

Let the list price be 'a'

CP(retailer) = SP (wholeseller) = a x 0.8

SP(retailer) = a x 0.95 = 38

therefore, a = 40

SP (retailer) = 38 and CP (retailer) = 40 x 0.8 =32

Profit for retailer = 38 - 32 = 6

so option C) is the answer
