    1. There are no clear-cut sectional cutoffs; however, a decent performance across all the sections in expected to get a call for the second round

  1. Does TAPMI shortlist only by cut-off scores in CAT/XAT/GMAT/GRE of candidates for second stage (GD/PI)?
    1. No. For Admissions 2012 TAPMI intends to go in for profile-based short-listing for GD/PI, which means that due weight-age would be assigned to components like Academic record/ Professional qualifications /Work-experience etc while the short-list is prepared.

  1. Does it mean that CAT//XAT/GMAT/GRE cut-off scores would be different for each candidate?

      2. The second interview is conducted by the director, soon after the first one

  1. What kind of questions will be asked in the interviews?

Hi!what is the last date for filling up the form?

Hello,
The last date of application submission online is 15th January, 2012.

double post

what were the overall and sectional cutoffs for last year.?
what was the lowest salary ?

what were the overall and sectional cutoffs for last year.?
what was the lowest salary ?

To answer your first query,
Last year the admission procedure was like this:

There were no cutoffs. Having said that it doesn't mean that sectional will not come into picture. It was given due weightage..

Procedure was like this:
Phase 1: GD round (elimination round)
Everyone was called for GD round
To reach the next round that is Interview you need to score 65 out of 100.
where
CAT over all accounted for 30%
VA: 15%
DI: 10%
QA: 5%
and GD: 40%

So if you can achieve 65% out of these scores you will be in round 2 that is interview round.

Now the second query, about packages offered last year:
Highest offer being Rs 13.5 lakhs (an increase of about 45% over last year's highest),
median salary of 8 lakhs and
lowest salary of 5.9 lakhs (an increase of about 50% over last year's lowest)

Hope I have answered your query..

Hi!

  1. how are the faculties of TAPMI?
  2. with the strength of the last year's batch of 180+60, will there be a problem in arranging placement for all?As in i saw that TAPMI had arranged 45 companies for 120 students last year so, won't it be a difficulty in arranging 45/2=22.5=23 more companies:shocked: (at least 45+23=68 companies in total)for the batch within a year ?and that too for pgdm alone, let alone pgdm-hcm??please throw some inputs in it..

Faculties at TAPMI. This is a qualitative question, but let me assure you that we have some of the best faculties in Marketing. We get good faculties in Finance as Guest Faculties. So do not worry about quality of Faculty.

About the number of companies.
Let me tell you that numbers don't work the way you shown.
The point is many companies increase the number of recruit from the campus if they find people with relevant profile. So we will be able to meet the requirement partially by increase in the recruitment by existing companies and partially by increase in the number companies coming to campus.

I am not saying that bringing companies to the campus is easy job, but believe me, we have seen how it works and everyone here is working towards the same goal of making relationship better with corporate world and show them the talent we have.

is tapmi going to give out profile based calls??

Hey there,

Last year, everyone who applied was called for the GD round which was an elimination round. However, the final admission will depend on your performance in the selection process, in addition to various other parameters like work-ex and extra-curricular activities, and yes TAPMI is looking for people from diverse backgrounds. Hope this answers your query.

Hw mch wghtage z gvn Wrk ex nd wat z d minimum cat prcentle cnsidered...??

hi sunnysankalp,

here is the detailed procedure that was followed last year for admission @ TAPMI.

Stage-1: Group-Discussion: The weightage attached to this component is 40%, which means the maximum marks one can get are 40. The remaining 60% weightage to other components is split up as follows:

a) Weightage for overall CAT percentile score : 30%
b) Weightage for Verbal section : 15%
c) Weightage for Logical & Data Interpretation section : 10%
d) Weightage for Quantitative section : 5%
TOTAL WEIGHTAGE FOR CAT examination : 60%
(Weightage of 60% for GMAT is calculated on overall score)

Stage-2: Candidates scoring an aggregate of 65 marks and above in Stage 1 will qualify for Stage-2 of the selection process i.e., Personal Interview and Written Skill assessment.
However, the weightage for the score obtained in Stage-1 will be limited (converted) to 30% as the candidate moves on to Stage-2. This Stage has components like
(i) personal interview by Faculty Panel and Directors panel (35% weightage),
(ii) written skill assessment (5%),
(iii) academic record (15%) and
(iv) work experience (15%)
when the final rank-list is prepared.
