first of all the previous college hardly makes a diff
the cutoff last year was 90 for the gd/pi
but i dont think that freshers with less than 92% converted the final call
hey guys,
listening to some of the previous conversations on this thread brings back some fond memories of a year ago.
the same confusion, the same feeling of the unknown, too many options, too few options, conflicting gyaan, parents advice.......
...just to add to the gyaan from someone whos been thru it all:
apply to as many places as possible... it might cost some extra money now but believe me you do not want to repent later for a few thousand rupees.
nirma should definately fall in your MUST APPLY category. dont even think twice about that!
as for now.. study study study!!

last time around there was sectional cut off of 70 and overall cut off 0f 90 percentile.

Last time Nirma's cut-off was 10 percent in each section...

No idea if the cut-offs varied for freshers and applicants with experience...
Nirma gives an 80% weightage to CAT score...
10% to GD
10% to PI
At this stage I think you should only worry about getting a good CAT score... as CAT score of more than 97-98 percentlie and an okayish GD and PI will scrape you through...

nirma provided really good placement this yr. vd avg. package of 5.38. bajaj, eicher, ashok leyland were d mazor recruiters in automobile where in banking city bank, idbi, icici where there apart frm tht hutch, ACNilsean, ITC, CCD, Shoper's stop, HCL, Bajaj, Tata and arvind mills were the mezor brand names. i think nirma is never gonna lose it's brand name.

I think on above 90, u can expect a call frm nirma. and as far as work ex. wala quesion, i m also looking for d answer of this.... about sectional cut offs, u can read earlier threads, it is there, but not more then 75 per. in each section i think.

good that there has been a lot of discussion on this thread after lying dormant for such a long time.... well to clear all the confusion regarding the cutoffs last tiem the overall cutoff was 90 and the individual section had a 10 percentage and mind you not percentile cutoff (it roughly translates to around 60 percentile).... and in all probablity it will rise this year again as it has been doing for the last few year......
regarding whether they consider work-ex for admission .. yes they do.. in fact above 45% of the batch has work-ex....
well respected companies come to the campus... and infact we have companies from all the sectors coming over to our campus...
last year the avg sal was around 5.4lk which has already been mentioned...
we have a tremendous infrastructure which is considered among the best in india...
we do have great faculty and unlike other b-schools we have a large no. of full time faculties
come on guys..... this thread burst into activity once and has gone dormant again... with cat approaching... we at nirma would like to clear any doubts u have regarding the insti...so just submit ur query and we'll take it up
