thnx buddy for your wishes and informations.and also seeing your patience towards CAT since 2002 gives me confidence as my CAT journey is also going like the same.had 99.54 in CAT'06 and cudn't convert 5 IIM calls and agin joing the RAT race

can u please give last yr overall cut-offs as well as sectional for a GD+PI call.also is the calls profile based like IIM B or just on performance in CAT?
one more thing is that heard MDI has increased seats in PGPM..so how many seats are in offer for 2007 in each course.

Sid bhai.. can u plz post the sectional n overall cut-offs for GD-PI stage applicable for ur batch, and maybe the previous ones too.. i remember, it was something like 90%ile in each section n 95%ile overall for 2005-07 batch.. this info will help us all a lot..

in that case , you might be in waitlist and certainly you got a seat .

welll here it goes for PGPM

2004-06 overall cutoff 97%tile sectionals around 80%tile Seats 120 (total students given final offer around 250)
2005-07 Overall cutoff 98%tile sectionals around 85%tile Seats 120 (total students given final offer around 350, joined 128
2006-08 Overall cutoff 98%tile sectionals around 85%tile Seats 120 (total students given final offer around 420, joined 122)
2007-09 Overall cutoff 98%tile sectionals 85%tile in Quant and DI and 80%tile in VA
well MDI has got approval for 240 seats from AICTE, this year only 185 joined as the approval came late.
form 2008-10 intake is expected to be 240, but I don't think that cut-offs will change as total number of students aspiring is also increasing.
Total students called for GD/PI-990, finally students called for joining 520 for 2007-09.

Dude, you have no clue about how things go, do you ? I am myself a member of this club ( 5 calls and no converts ). And not just the IIMs, but i had all 3 MDI calls ( was in waiting list for HR and IM ) and couldnt convert those either. Ask anyone for the MDI waiting list for 2007-2009 and you'll find my name in it.

why would any sane person lie purposely to show that he's failed ?

Sorry for diverting from the main topic of this thread.... waise, isnt there a bit of time for the MDI forms to come out ?

well the sale of Forms will start shortly, the preparation is already begun and once the notification is out I will inform all of you.

well I don't think that calls are profile based as all those who have qualified the CAT criterion have got calls from MDI; but yes may be the Final Offers are as around 70% of our batch contains work experience.

Moi too had an array of (mostly, second-rung) calls back in Admit Seasons '04 n '05, so can relate with what u might have been thru.. but, gr8 tht u made it to MDI frm a WL 226! :wow:

well this is a million dollar question for any good B-school
well CAT scores matter only for your interview call not much in Final call (last year a guy with 98.01 was in first list).
graduate scores not much for people with work ex (I was among the last in my college but got through MDI) for freshers can't say
If ur GD/PI performance is good u r definetely in don't worry

i am a bcom(hons) from a very modest college and i have very relevant though a different kind of work experience of 14 months...will be 2 years by the next june...i am self employed,you see..

decend acads throughout and a bit of extra currics in school...

can a profile like this aspire to be in mdi even after a rockin cat and an awesome gd/pi....i say a rockin cat score and an awesome gd/pi because these are some things on which stleast one can work and achieve even though the luck factor plays a major part.. but at this stage theres nothing one can do enhance his/her profile...

i know its early for asking specific queries and i have gone through the entire routine last year but could not resist as this the first thread on which i am posting my queries to seniors from b schools i aspire to be in..

hope that i offend and irritate no one.

well we have B Com honours here, my roommate is mathematics honours from a modest college with not so good acads and 6 months work ex in a company which he left a year before joining MDI, but he made it.
so don't worry u have 2 years of work ex, if u r able to show that learning and confidence in ur interview u will stand a chance as good as anybody.
self employeed is always seen as good in B Schools coz u r en enterpreuner which they want u to be, so thats the best they can get
chill out man and focus on CAT
