Now as the interviews ceasing to an end and the senior puys who had calls
are waiting for their interview results, the mighty CAT 2011 is peeping out to
all aspirants of 2011. So in Kolkata, too we are enthusiastic about the new
season.

I am initiating this post for the same..

We can start our preparations and related discussions here, than on the KDT
10 thread, for easy reference to any new puy joining in from Kolkata..

All I would suggest is, as there would be many new puys like myself, it would
be great to have a short intro as our first post, so that we can know better
who we are, you can follow the following(its not a mandate, anyway):

1. A Brief Snapshot of your profile
2. Number of CAT attempts (if any)
3. Coaching Center Joined/Planning to Join
4. Test Series Joined/Planning to Join
5. Strengths (QA/VA/LDI)

Events like PG Meets, Mock CATs, and Motivational Loss can be dealt with here..

We can discuss anything and everything that might come
our way during CAT. Lets enjoy the process, helping each other at one's down
moments and learning how to tackle things(both CAT direct and CAT
induced)..

Work Ex - 8months (IT sector)

2. Number of CAT attempts (if any)
CAT 2009
QA-96.XX%ile , VA-95.XX%ile , DI-34.XX%ile :banghead:, OA-86.XX%ile

3. Coaching Center Joined/Planning to Join
Not joining any Coaching center - Have loads of materials, which i am afraid I might not even complete :drinking:

4. Test Series Joined/Planning to Join
TIME and CL

5. Strengths (QA/VA/LDI)
QA, LR, VA (Weaknesses - RC & DI )

That's more or less about me, I have started preparation only a week
back,still trying to freeze a schedule for myself, life in IT sector is hectic to
say the least. So need to plan well in ahead.

Just back from a nicemeet...Rito, Anand, Sayan and moi headed there straight from our RRRT interview...Ashish joined us a bit late...had a wonderful enjoyable evening

PS: We missed superchiku a lot during this meet!...we didn't plan this beforehand, so forgive us for not being able to invite you the "super" one!

Important announcement:
Mega Pagalguy Kolkata PG meet on 3rd April, Sunday
Venue: Park Street(exact location and timings to be intimated later)

We already have almost 10 people confirmed...make this event as big as possible....and for all the newbies like bongdreams, ansuman, abhra, nataraj, gkumar and others..this is one opportunity to meet people who've gone through the process and succeeded, people whom you can ask anything and everything regarding CAT...so don't miss this opportunity to interact with them..you may also bring along your friends who are interested..do confirm your participation in this thread ASAP so that we can plan the venue accordingly...expecting a huge turnout on the 3rd :)

B.Tech : 7.55 / 10
Working in a Chemical Company in Kolkata.

CAT2010 : 83.21 QA:91.xx , DI: 97.xx , VA: 16.xx
3. Coaching Center Joined/Planning to Join
Not interested to join in any of them.
4. Test Series Joined/Planning to Join
TIME and CL/ IMS
5. Strengths (QA/VA/LDI)
Strength QA and DI
Weakness : VA , very very weak in English.

So this is bit about myself. As I have alrady attempted CAT 2 times earlier, i don't think I can write this exam sufficient number of times in comming years. So I am desperate to crack it this time and literally we have 7 months in our hand. Lets get back to business. I have missed the earlyer PG meets, but next time I am going to attempt it, first time. Through out one year I have realised that group study is very helpfull so anyone in this thread interested for group study can get in touch with me. I stay near Jadavpur. Or if you guys have any study group in Kolkata I want to join with you, that will be really helpfull for me. I want to start in a group as soon as possible.

And as the mocks start we can always sit down with a couple of mocks and analyse them together.. :cheerio:

All I can say, these 7months are enuf as the senior puys have suggested me, but thz r not to be wasted.. (a movie a week is alright I guess :lookround:)

Hi friends,
Initially in the coming two months for the Quant and DI-LR section (as I am strong in this section) I am going to solve the previous year question papers, it may be previous year CAT, XAT, IIFT papers etc, or it may be last year TIME or CL mock papers. and also brush up my weak chapters like Permutation and Combination or Probability.
But in case of english section, as I am weak in it, trying to devote more time.
I am deviding this up coming 7 months in two part,
one up to june for the preparation through materials and previous year papers.
Two from july preparation through mocks and building up exam taking strategy.

Ok as I am weak in English section, can any senior puys suggest me how to go about this english section in the coming months and make a decent score in this section. My score in this section not at all improving yet, this section is killing me. please suggest me a planned way to improve in this section.

hey dude i stay in north kolkata...nt part of any study group as of now but would like to take part in group study as it is a great way to improve...so m ready for it but only on weekends :cheerio:
