The admission process for IIMB's PGSEM program 2012 batch for professionals in the IT industry is about to begin. I have attached the relevant documents regarding the admission process.
About PGSEM:
The Post-Graduate Programme in Software Enterprise Management (PGSEM) leading to a Post-Graduate Diploma in Software Enterprise Management is an executive general management education programme designed for the specific needs of professionals working in the software and information technology industry in India. It was started in 1998 and so far there are around 1000 alumnus. Predominantly, the participants are from IT/ITES industry.
Conduct of classes: Friday & Saturday - 8AM-1:15PM
Duration: 2.5 Years
Eligibility: All requirements for PGP applies to PGSEM also. In addition, you should have a minimum of two years of work experience in the IT industry.
Important Dates
Sunday 20th Nov 2011 - Open House at IIMB Auditorium
Saturday 17th Dec 2011 - Start date for submitting online applications
Saturday 4th Feb 2012 - Last day for submission of applications
Sunday 12th Feb 2012 - PGSEM Test
March 2012 by prior Invitation - Faculty & Alumni Interviews
Saturday 25th & 27th May2012 - PGSEM 2012 Batch Inauguration & Orientation
Friday 15th Jun 2012 - PGSEM 2012 Batch Program Begins

I have around 28 months of xp. My academics and extra curricular are pretty good.

IIMB does not specify a minimum score. But considering that your experience level is lower than past averages, it will help to have a higher score. Also the fact that you are confident about you academics and ECs is a very good sign. Some people use the test score to compensate for weak acads. A safe bet to avoid letting your GMAT score play spoilsport would be 680+.

It is said that we need to attach a SOP for our pgsem test. Can you let me know or share a sample sop. Do we need to prepare only one sop of why do we want to do an MBA??

What the PGSEM site means by SOP is a series of 4 or 5 questions. One of the questions is the standard "why". The others I think include your achievements, your memorable failure (a.k.a learnings!) etc. Nothing fancy. Just questions that force you to think about yourself and your plans.
My suggestion would be to start filling the application and take some time to think about honest answers to these questions. Write them down and if you need help improving them, please leave a message in this thread and I or someone I can find in my class will be able to help you.

The questions are listed in the application. Just wanted to make sure we are clear since your last post sounds like you understood it to be questions that we decide to write in the SoP. The questions are determined by the PGSEM office and should be in the application portal already.

I checked it again and again but cannot seem to find the set of questions. If you can point me in correct direction that would be great. I go to sop and other uploads in the pgsem online application portal but do not find the sample template. Am I missing something?

Yes. You can go to the office directly. But I doubt if they will have ready access to the application over the web to show you where the SoP is. I am pasting a mail from the yahoo groups below.
Here you go.. you need to answer these 5 questions:
1. How do you see the PGSEM helping you in your goals? (150 words) 177
2. How would the PGSEM classroom benefit by your presence? (150 words)
3. What are two major achievements in your career? (150 words)
4. What is a major shortcoming you wish to discuss? What have you learned from it? (150 words)
5. What is one issue dear to you? How do you see it resolved? (200 words)
Hover your mouse over the heading "Online Application - SOP and other uploads" under SOP section, and you can see the above 5 questions.

That was indeed a quick relief. Actually i saw the html code of the page and that i found that on mouseover of the question mark(help text the sop gets displayed. I have attached the screenshot of the same. Hope it will be beneficial for others.
