Sir , my HSC percentage is 85.8% , but i had accidentally filled 87.8% in my CAT form . By the time i realised the mistake it was already too late and the candidate care rep asked me to contact any iim that i may get a call from to correct the error .
As soon as i learnt about the call from K , i sent the admissions office a mail clearly telling them my prob .I got a reply saying "your marks cannot be altered now .What you filled , stands unchanged ." That was all . I then called the office asking them what my future course of action and my fate would be . The rep there asked me to fill stage-1 form and that i would be informed about my fate in due time .
Since then i haven't been contacted by them , and today i have been shortlisted for stage - 2 .
My only question is - What do i have to do now ?
Kindly respond to my query as soon as you can , as i'm utterly confused and have nobody to ask for advice .

can you plz tell how to calculate the index scores for SSC and HSC for the ICSE and ISC board...i mean from where to get the data...plz reply...

Got the K-call 😃 ...That makes it 13 out of 13 IIM calls for me this time 10th: 90.2 % (CBSE) 12th: 91.6 % (CBSE) Graduation Marks: 9.55 CGPA Graduation Stream: B.Tech(CSE) Work Ex Details: 4 months (TCS) CAT Percentile: 99.80 %ile Got to prep for GDPI now . . . .

My scores after 2nd stage are as follows-

CAT Index (50) 45.48
SSC Index (20) 14.17
HSC Index (20) 12.33
Graduation Index (10) 10.00
Total Index (100) 81.97

Total Index cutoff (GENERAL) 88.00

I have 94% in tenth(ICSE) and 95% in 12th(sci.)(ISC)..
despite of suh high scores, i have been given 14,12 scores in boards index

This means that if I had got 100% in CAT ..even then my scores wouldnot let me cross the cut off..

So the ideal people shortlisted are ones with >99%ile in CAT,>95 in both boards and >65% in graduation..is this what they mean to say

I dont get it that if I having ~95 in boards have got so less index then others with around 80s can never qualify..

SO disgusted to even try next year.(bcoz as though wid ideal marks...no chance)what the heck do they expect from us

for 79% in clas 12 th from CBSE board they give 3.75 out of 20...
and 89% in class 10th Raj Board they gave 13/20...
shit shit shit..IIMK sucks.

After scoring 100%ile in CAT, 93.6% in CBSE Board(10th) and 95.6% in AP board(12th) and 8.59/10 in IIT...............i still cud not make it:shocked:

I think AP guys can actually file a PIL in court. Because, even if they got 100% marks in 10th,12th, and Graduation and 100 percentile in CAT, they still wont make it past 88 index... so that makes it INELIGIBLE for IIM K..

It's a been a long time since I haven't written any post in PG. But this IIM K with their very very very innovative selection methodology provokes me to write something and vent off the ill feeling. I am not feeling bad for anything personal. I have got 98.95%ile and I was not really sure of any call. I haven't got that. It's fine. But the way they calculate the scores - is truly horrible. To be very fair, all the segments of index score are impractical.

But since we speak volumes on factors which affect us most - we should laugh at the way they calculate 10th and 12th index scores. No need to explain reasons or to reconsider before expressing this opinion which may as well sound judgmental - 10th and 12th index score calculation is simply flawed - i mean its perfectly all right to calculate based on a predefined methodology. But being at the helm of affairs of such an institute of national importance, the IIMK authority is truly morbid in terms of reasoning and logical ability - It's not about a statistically formulated theory but a touch of pragmatism is what is inevitable when you formulate something which is going to decide the future of scores of students and in that manner the future of the nation as well. Why this calculations are illogical doesn't really need any explanation as I have said before... anybody with a fair bit of intelligence and logic would understand that the methodology is flawed. Statistics can do nothing if we don't use them intelligently - this statement is as suitable as the other one would be - creating automatic robots won't be a scientific development itself unless its used intelligently by human beings for betterment of the human race. Using statistics to analyze things is always good... but what if it becomes such a rigid structure like this - the supreme court would someday say since the number of hairs in Suresh Kalmadi's beard is more than that in Anna Hazare's beard, Mr. Suresh Kalmadi should be allowed to come out of jail and Mr. Hazare should go and substitute him in the vacant cell in Tihar Jail... STATISTICALLY DEFINED METHODOLOGY DEVELOPED BY MANAGEMENT GURUS AND FOLLOWED BY CUSTODIANS OF LAW. getting 90% in board exams should NEVER return a less than 50% index score in anything - WHATEVER be it, WHICHEVER board it comes from.

And as i said all the other segment is flawed as well. If you scale it statistically enough for 10th and 12th to get the index score with such a variation between the highest and nearly highest scores, then why the hell should there be virtually no difference between a 98%iler and a 100%iler in CAT score segment? Might be a case that 100%iler got double the score of a 98 or 97 percentiler. And then Graduation scores are almost same irrespective of I was the 1st boy or the last one in my class. Give me one valid area where they have maintained sanctity or logic!

HATE!!!
